| My Yorkie pees when people come over... help! My Yorkie is a female and 1 1/2 years old and always pees when people come to the door. She has peed on their shoes or they step in it, or their kids step in it... I feel terrible. Will this ever stop or does anyone have any helpful advice? PLEASE if anyone out there can help... please respond. I am at my wits end! Thanks, dianna |

Thor's Human Donating Member | That sounds like submissive or excitable peeing. Does she do this with members of your family, or just guests? Here are a few things I'd suggest: * Before people are coming over, limit her water, and take her out for a brisk walk right before to empty her out. * Have her SIT while the guests come in, maybe even in another room. A dog can't pee if it's sitting. * Greet your guests, have them hang up their coats, make chitchat, and then CALMLY greet her, maybe one by one. You might want to intervene if she seems like she's getting too worked up, and have her go back to her spot and sit for a treat. When she's ready, she can go greet guests again. Hope this helps.
