| is this marking or simple accident ok i know this may sound dumb but i new at this. what is the diff between marking and a simple pee accident. my boy doesnt hike or lift he squats. he doesnt pee on furniture but does sometimes pees on the floor... not the same spot different spots. its also not all the time...this week i was at home sick taking lots of meds. there was 2 times when i feel asleep and left him out and he went pee on the floor. there were other times i was sleep when he was out but these 2 times he actually pee'd while i was sleep. normally he holds it and so far he never poo's on floor only pee's. poo he will hold til he goes outside or he will go on his pad in his room... is he marking or was i sleep to long and he couldnt hold it.....how do you know the diff????

| I would say that its accidents , I see that he was born in april, so he is still real young. With him being only 5 months i would say accidents.

| Sounds like accidents to me...How often do you take your pup out for a pee break? Having a formal time and pee schedule helped me know how long my dog can reasonably hold it. For a pup that young, and so small, I would say every two hours to be on the safe side. |

| Thats just , I had to pee, mom. I think, when the hormones get going, he will start lifting his leg, and if he starts doing that indoors,, thats marking.

| My guy got neutered early and he still lifts to mark, it's often lazy, but I can still tell the diff between a mark and a pee. If you are in doubt, give the pup credit and assume an accident. Another marking habit that you can look for: Chewy has *just* picked this up, even though he was neutered ages ago, includes scruffing his back feet after poopin' or peein'. This looks a lot like a cat's behavior after going to the bathroom, you will recognize it immediately. He's using the scent glands in his rear paws to mark his territory. That lets me know what a "poo marking" behavior is. Kinda wierd. |

| it could have been a accident but maybe he was just being a naughty little guy.....I know Gidget pees on her pad all the time but if I am really busy or like today havent been feeling well she will pee on the floor so when I go in the kitchen I nearly step on it......another time she peed on the couch armrest like well poo to you I will make you play with me.......Just a thought. |

| Sounds like he had to go. My Woody squatted till about 7 - 8 months. When my girls are in season he marks, a few dribbles here and there. That's when the Belly Band goes onn. Your little guy is still learning. |

| same prob, but a little worse:( I also have a 5 month old yorkie, male.. and he was previously very well trained which surprised me..last two weeks, started peeing in house, on floor, on occasion... more everyday... lifting leg , and squatting, called vet she said to neuter right away, as this is a dominant male activity.. and he can hold it over night for like 9 hours no prob.. soo... looks like he is due for a vet visit |
