I'm sorry, but I don't agree with you about the hormone thing. I've had pups that as soon as they were old enough to hike their leg, they did. Hormones or not. I also have 2 females that appear to hike their leg. They go smell where one of the boys go, and straddle the spot, hike one leg and pee all over their other foot! I wouldn't call that marking their territory. I'd call it "oops"!! Puppies as young as 4-6 weeks hike their legs too. Some are so young, that when they do it, they hike their legs as high as they can and tumble right over. I think it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
