| Is it too late for a play pen So my puppy Mimi is 13 weeks old and I was going to crate train her but I didn't like how restrictive it was so I took it back and bought a plastic pet play pen.She has pretty much been able to roam free in my apartment when I'm home but I don't like having to constantly chase her around to see what she is doing. I'm just wondering if it is too late to teach her to stay in a play pen. I think she might be really upset about it but the free roaming is making potty training a nightmare. If anyone has any advice that would be great! |

| You're right - she can't roam free unless you're watching her like a hawk. Bailey wasn't a big fan of the crate either - although I did use it during potty training. Once we were completed, no more crate! We also used an expen while I was at work (and still do). I think a playpen is an excellent idea!!!! Good luck!!!

| A playpen is much better than a crate esp if you are around

| I think that's what I'm going to do. I found a good deal for a play pen on Amazon.com. I'm just worried that it will be a struggle to get her to stay in it. |

| I bought a playpen for June (a month before I got her) and ended up using it for the foster puppies as well. Now that I have June (I got her yesterday), she uses it. I think playpens are great and they make it easy to house train. I covered the floor with some vinyl material and put her bed, toys, water with a placemat and her potty pads in there. The breeder I got her from kept the puppies in a similar situation, so she is used to it. The foster puppies, however, weren't. They cried a lot - especially in the morning - and made it hell. But they were big and there was two of them. I think she will get used to it easily, but be sure to only respond when she has stopped crying. This might mean waiting around the corner until she stops, but it is totally worth it. Good luck with it, expens are great.

| It's not too late. I purchased this puppy play pen and it was the best investment I've ever made. I got it off Ebay, brand new, 49.00 and free shipping. Here is the link. Just click on the sellers other items and there is more there. Plus they come in sizes. I just love it. It is so light, folds easy and has its own carry case so you can take it with you anywhere. | Glad you got one. They came in different colors. Wanted pink, but they were out. So I got the leopard, grrr. You just can't believe how light it is. I was totally shocked. Please let me know what you think of it when you get it. I want to hear from others who got, LOL Chow Carol and Jemma |

| Just curious...will this be big enough to contain my 5 1/2 pound jumper? We want something to bring along when visiting so we don't have to worry about Milo destroying someone's home. We do not want to confine him to a crate for hours at a time and this seems as if it might be a nice alternative. |

It's certainly bigger than a crate and they get use to it because it is larger and they can see through the sides. I don't like a crate, but I sure like this. Hope this helps...
