| ![]() Hey! I really hope you guys can help me with this! I have two yorkies, who generaly are well behaved, but we can't get them to stop attacking out feet when we walk in the door or when a guest comes to visit. It's hard to walk anywhere! We try to call them off but they are too distracted and DO NOT listen when some company is over. all they do is paw at thier feet and make it hard for them to walk. does anyone else have this problem? if so, how do you train them to stop? How can i train them to stay away from feet? |

| ![]() we have the same problem with our 10 weeks old Laila, i always carry a small toy in my pocket and distract her that way. or try stoping for a minute without moving your feet and just let them jump for a bit, they should get bored. |

| ![]() You can buy 'bitter apple' at petmart and if you put a little on your shoes once, I think that should do it. It was made to keep dogs away from electrical cords etc. Don't put on any good shoes since I am not sure if it will make a spot or not (doubt it though and it should only take one or two times with old shoes on) Hope this helps!!

| ![]() I think before you can get your little one to stop going after your feet and jumping you need to teach then to sit and stay which will then carry over into you have visitors. One of my biggest pet peeves is jumping dogs so this is something that I have really worked on with my 3. There is absolutely no quick fix to your issue and they will continue to do this unless you work with them diligently on the command sit/stay. It really does work and it your only answer to this issue. You need to become in control of the situation which you are not at this time. I no longer have small children but our neighbors have a toddler who loves to come over often to visit. She is not afraid at all to be around them because when I tell them to sit they will sit at her feet and let her pet them.

| ![]() megansmomma is right ... this is a control issue when they are chasing after a pair of feet trying to call them off isn't going to work What you need to do is get a volunteer pair of feet ![]() Have someone come to the door Let them in........ BUT if they go charging after the feet? Close The Door and sat STAY You keep doing this until they get the message That the person does not enter the house until they are calm and don't attack the person's feet

| ![]() My Mimi girl does the feet attacking/ play biting thing too. Especially when I'm wearing the fuzzy slippers. She just goes right in & takes a big chunk of toe & slipper in her mouth & she doesn't let go. I usually just slip my slipper off (it might be hard to do w/ shoes) & she let's go. Maybe you can try that w/ slippers & when they let go, give them a treat. Soon, they'll associate letting go of slipper/feet = treats! But what if they keep attacking feet just to get treats?! ![]()
