I think before you can get your little one to stop going after your feet and jumping you need to teach then to sit and stay which will then carry over into you have visitors. One of my biggest pet peeves is jumping dogs so this is something that I have really worked on with my 3. There is absolutely no quick fix to your issue and they will continue to do this unless you work with them diligently on the command sit/stay. It really does work and it your only answer to this issue. You need to become in control of the situation which you are not at this time. I no longer have small children but our neighbors have a toddler who loves to come over often to visit. She is not afraid at all to be around them because when I tell them to sit they will sit at her feet and let her pet them.
