Yorkie Yakker | Well i think you are doing just Fine & its Great you have been working hard to keep up the Milk & feed that Furbaby would need as very young, you've basically Rescued your Pup from an Awful Greeder, yes i would Report her so this doesn't keep happening & maybe it will Stop the greeder from being able to keep breeding. Well done, yes wait for Vaccines until after 8wks better for Pup. Crate & Wee pads water & food & a good few toys, someone to check Pup during day for you would benefit young Furbaby. Good Luck Pup is Happy & gaining weight don't worry your doing the right things. |

| Just got caught up reading the latest posts about the 5 week old puppy. I second the two suggestions on getting pet insurance and also to get her spayed later on (at around 5 to 6 months old). Super important! As she's still quite young right now, keep a good eye on her (which I'm sure you have as you mentioned that you're retired). Make sure she doesn't get too active. Puppies in the first year shouldn't do too much running or jumping as their delicate bones are still growing. I sense that you understand everyone's comments are with good intentions. And you also have good intentions in learning more for the good of your new baby. I think each person's ability to 'do proper research' can vary, but it's true that the breeder you got the puppy from is definitely not a responsible breeder. We may all come across as crazy Yorkie people, but it's truly all to help. I paw-mise! Also, bad behaviours may develop if you don't watch out for them. Sometimes you have to be a little firm and strict while training your little baby. Maybe not so much now, but later on when she reaches 6 months to 8 months during the adolescent period. You'll see, they can be quite the terror terriers. In regards to separation anxiety, it's something you should look into. Try small exercises in leaving her alone for short periods, and gradually leave longer (not too long obviously, since she's still very much too young). But you can continue to do that as she grows, and make sure she's comfortable being alone sometimes. It's good for obedience training in the long run. And it's very true, all our Yorkies have their independent issues. Trust me when I tell you, they always start out as angels. hehe... Welcome to Yorkietalk!
