| I agree with the one poster who suggested giving the puppy an alternative to biting you. Sophie gets her Bullystick when she tries to bit me. Lucky me, I am the only one she bites but I am being consistant and not allowing. I think Sophie is a slow learner.

Don't be too discouraged, too. The biting normally subsides after teething. | |

| I just got a yorkie puppy last Sunday. He is now 8 weeks old. Weighs 1.5 lbs. He is very sweet when he wants to be but he has started this agressive biting stuff. I give him a firm NO over and over but he seems to ignore me. I bought him one of those Kong toys to chew on when he gets in this mode. Is this a "teething" stage or some bad aggression that needs to be dealt with? I would prefer to have him stop biting all together. Would it be better to give him the Kong toy or use a water bottle on him to try and make him stop? |

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I really recommend Merrick Bully sticks, it helps them with their chewing needs. Target sold some puppy teething rings that Joey like too. I'm sorry you feel frustrated.

You reinforce that which you want not which you do not which be what you are suggesting. Dogs are not wolves and are not stress not pack animals they are soicla beings !! and if Ceser get is butt end out of the out of the dumps and followed the dogs to thier dens he seen this and we not even have to have this discussion he have actually done all his homework not made a big mess that those that have the education need to continually repair and set on the right road. "You contradict yourself. On one hand you say to give it something yummy to chew on to getit to stop chewing on you, on the other hand you ssy to praise it when it is chewing on something besides you." no I did not when it teeth come of you you mark and reward that action... and if you need to you can give it a nice toy to chew on or bully stick to get its teeth off you and give you a rewardable event. I sorry if a dog comes up and barks at you do you think it is a human scolding you or a dog barking.. give dogs credit for the brains they have . they know full well we are not dogs and to work with them as dogs do to dogs in not the best way. We do not have the ability that dogs do in timing and no emotions.... leave training dogs like dogs to the dogs and train like a human that wants a true bond on the right footing. JL
