| ![]() Our Yorkie is 3 years old now, we've had her since she was a puppy. We currently have a trainer come every 2 weeks and work with us. As of 2 days ago, she has become very aggressive and mean. All she does is lay in her bed and growl, whine and bark. It's a constant growl-whine, and I mean constant, all day long. She has a problem with resource guarding as well. We don't understand why she does this, it is to the point where we are going to have to get rid of her if we can't fix this. If I try to to get close to her she gives me the evil-eye and and growls and barks. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. |

| ![]() You have a trainer coming in and this has started since the trainer comes in? Man, I'd be wondering what is going on. Have you had a vet check? Maybe he is ill or is having some neurological problems. Hopefully that after the Christmas business is over someone with experience will give some suggestions. You could also post this in the forum's training section. Oh, your poor, poor baby. Please search for an answer before you get rid of him. There are so many bad, bad pet owners out there and you don't want him to go someplace like that. Good luck and Merry Christmas. ~Joanne~

| ![]() She has been like this for a couple of years. I got her a Brand New bed Monday, as soon as I gave it to her she went into pyscho mode. It's been that way ever since, we can't even talk to each other in another room without her barking and growling. |

| ![]() I'm not sure I have all the information You said she's been like this for years? But that this all started when she got her new bed? If it's been like this for years ... it's an aggression problem and she's resource guarding but if this is recent and started all out of the blue I'd be more concerned about her being in pain with a medical problem

| ![]() Recently is when she started just laying in the bed growling, whining and barking. She has had guarding problems in the past, but they would come and go. Now, anytime you come near her when she is in "Guard Mode", she growls, whines and barks. She used to growl and bark, never whine and she never kept doing it after we left the room. Now she will find a spot on a couch and guard it, she'll find a spot under the Christmas tree and guard it, she'll find anything and sit beside or on it and guard it. She will attack whatever she is guarding if you try to take it and not let go. We took her to the vet, she said that she didn't think that she had Piometra or Mastitis, but they did some blood work and we will get the results Monday. Also the vet seemed to think after we have her spayed, that should help get rid of the hormones that could be causing this. |
