Recently is when she started just laying in the bed growling, whining and barking. She has had guarding problems in the past, but they would come and go. Now, anytime you come near her when she is in "Guard Mode", she growls, whines and barks. She used to growl and bark, never whine and she never kept doing it after we left the room. Now she will find a spot on a couch and guard it, she'll find a spot under the Christmas tree and guard it, she'll find anything and sit beside or on it and guard it. She will attack whatever she is guarding if you try to take it and not let go. We took her to the vet, she said that she didn't think that she had Piometra or Mastitis, but they did some blood work and we will get the results Monday. Also the vet seemed to think after we have her spayed, that should help get rid of the hormones that could be causing this.
