| Two beautiful Yorkies BUT We have two beautiful Yorkies but one seems to have mental problems. We bought her when she was 8 weeks old and weighed less than 1 pound. Now she is 6 years old and weighs 7 lbs. She has never been abused or neglected, but cowers, hides under the bed, if you can get her to go out, will not go unless you go with her, piddles when someone scratches her back and yelps at times when you touch her tummy. The vet jokingly said that she had anticipatory pain syndrome. She is a wonderful traveler and a very loving dog. Oh, yes, she also piddles and poops anywhere in the house when she feels like it, but rarely in the travel trailer. The other Yorkie uses the doggie door. To top it all off, we live in Florida and have the big slider open to our fenced yard, and she still will not go out. I tried premie diapers, but think she needs the next larger size. We have ceramic tile throughout our home, because of her, and sunbrella fabric on the furniture. Now I am looking into fabric like vinyl or faux leather. Any suggestions? Thanks, Pat |

| Aww.... poor little thing She's just spooked that's all You need to slowly bring her out and expose her to new sounds new people and strange places But the whole time you have to be very very Alpha dog She needs to look at you for protection and guidance if you show her love and give in to her cowering it will just make it worse The Dog Whisperer ... has some episodes where you'll get some great insight into your dogs problem But she's not mentally ill

| Thanks! I have to ask, how do I become Alpha Dog? Kathie loves to ride in the car and especially the boat. But, she runs under the bed while Molly goes out. She does sleep with me, so this morning when I woke up, I picked her up and took her outside. And, she is never far from me. We have had four Yorkies and Kathie is the only one that has acted like this. |
