She's just spooked that's all
You need to slowly bring her out and expose her to new sounds new people and strange places
But the whole time you have to be very very Alpha dog
She needs to look at you for protection and guidance
if you show her love and give in to her cowering it will just make it worse
The Dog Whisperer ... has some episodes where you'll get some great insight into your dogs problem
But she's not mentally ill
