| Hiro-san usually poops 3 times a day... and I am crate training. Once in the morning after we get up but before brekkie. (If he's stubborn and doesn't wanna go or doesn't seem interested in pooping, Ill feed him brekkie first and that usually encourages a poopy.) If he doesn't poop he doesn't get free time after brekkie to run and play in his area. He goes straight in the carrier and I take him out every 15 minutes until he poops. If he doesn't go, then I forget about it and continue on with our schedule for the day. It seems like the more I stress and get upset about him not pooping, the less likely he is to go! As well, once he poops and is playing in his area, I'll have a shower and take him out for a walk. Afterwards, at suppertime, same story there as above except he gets fed first because he rarely misses an evening poop. He gets free time to run around and play like the little manic he is. lol (Aaaaaaaaaaand then?!) About 3-4 hours before we go to bed, the husband and I take him for a walk. Then right before we go to bed he poops. If he doesn't, I don't stress. He's really good at holding it overnight.

| Since my last post, I have changed her food to Wellness puppy from Science diet and she has been pooping only 3 times as opposed to 5. The change didn't affect her at all. As far as her poop goes, it actually seems harder now than when she was on SD. I've been a little more consistent and she has only pooped once inside. I've done a few things differently and I think it's making things better. I also am only feeding her twice a day now. I think 3 times was a bit much. She seems to be doing ok that way. Well, i'm off to take her on a walk on the beach. Thanks for the great advice. Quote:

| YAY! I love happy puppy endings! ... or is this the beginning!?! DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!! :O Hehe, seriously though, I'm glad your baby is responding better now! I wonder if the food you were feeding her was hard on her system and she couldn't, in fact, hold her poopies. I imagine it would be like us going and eating a huge mexican meal and not being able to make it to the bathroom! lol sorry for that. Since I can't work (no work visa yet and all), it's really easy for me to be able to be 100% attentive to Hiro-san. I can't imagine training a puppy AND working! Kudos to you and all who can do it!

| it seems like she is pooping too much. Tootsie poops maybe twice a day but we had to put her on a feeding schedul. She gets fed in the morning and 10 min later she poops outside. I am not going to lie but when she was 5 months she pooped wherever she wanted. Maybe you should cut back a little on the food and she will get better with age... |
