| ![]() I brought my new 3 month old male home on Friday. I also have a 7 month old female. They are both about 2.5 lbs. They seem to really like each other and play alot together, but sometimes one of them really yelps and cries when they are playing. I know that this is somewhat normal when they play with play biting and all, but where do you draw the line? After this happens they immediately run back to each other and want to start playing again. Do I just let them play and let it run it's course or do I stop it occasionally? I am so afraid one of them will get hurt. They do all of that growling and rolling around and biting - does it just sound worse than it is? It seems as though I am constantly picking one of them up, trying to hold them as they squirm to get back down. Help! |

| ![]() I usually stop them with a water bottle or a a can with pennys in it. I'm worried my little one's will break their eyes. I had a hard time getting Shylohs ears up and I don't want them to fall, so I have the water bottle, or get a can of soda, empty it, put penny's in it and shake it. They stop immediately! ![]() Last edited by PamBellaJagShy; 08-08-2008 at 07:37 AM. Reason: ears |

| ![]() Thanks for your help. I've tried the soda bottle with coins and they do stop, but...they immediately run back to each other and start again. I'm thankful that they get along and seem to like each other, but I'm so afraid one of them will get hurt. They just sound like it is so rough. I guess I'll just keep separating them when they sound like that. Does anyone know if it gets to a point when they will get "used to each other" and stop this or will this continue on indefinitely? |

| ![]() I let mine go at it. When Baby Chloe has had enough, she will come to me to hold her.

| ![]() Zoeybear, That is just what mine look like when they are "playing"! Does one of yours ever really yelp or cry out? Last night the puppy really cried for about 10 seconds and made me feel really bad. I immediately picked him up and he continued to cry for a couple of seconds, but then when I put him down he went right back over and jumped on top of her! They are not fighting, I don't think, but playing...it just sounds really bad ~ plus my 7 month female is so fragile and thin and he is so short and full of puppy fat!!! |

| ![]() Thanks. I do believe mine are playing. They sound like they are killing each other! Once in a while someone will cry a bit. If zoeybear gets too rough , I yell "hey" and she gets off her Sis. Baby Chloe is just like yours, she just goes back for more! I figure they are playing, but also establishing the pecking order. When BC has enough, she gets in my lap!

| ![]() Do they ever outgrow this "playing" or will this go on forever? I have only had him a week and he is only 3 months ~ I'm wondering if they will eventually get used to each other and calm down or will this just be the way they go at it from now on? |

It goes on and on until they pass out. ![]() Reese is 1 1/2 years old...Reggie is 7 months. They play A LOT...usually outside which wears them out so that when we are inside...everyone naps. At 3 years old...Ramsey is more content to lay and watch them. She thinks boys are stupid.

| ![]() I'll have to try the water bottle, too. Thanks for the advice. I know what you mean about the ears...it sounds and looks like mine will tear each others off! But so far, we haven't had anything major happen....just a few cries, yelps and some hurt feelings! I think it bothers me 100% more than them. |

Well when one turns a year old...I get baby fever and get another. ![]() Mine adore being outside...it is a great way for them to run off that energy. That's my entertainment...I sit outside and watch my dogs play.
