We just got Luna a new collar last week and everytime we put it on her she just lays around like we are punishing her. I thought maybe it was the tag so i took it off and that helps but still she wont even play when its on. I have started off by keeping it on her for about 3-4 hrs and i dont know how to get her used to it.

This reminded me of a friend who lives in the country. Ordinarily, she has free roam of the yard. However, when she's been bad she put the collar and leash on her and she'll lay on the deck as though she has a ball and chain attached.

i feel so bad for her but she needs to get used to it.

Linus used to do the same thing, so we permanently removed the collar. He's been much happier. I think it's safer when I leave him at home too. It just makes me feel better. His tags are on his harness, and that seems to work out well.

we havent been able to find a harness small enough for her in our price range yet we want to get a step in but petsmarts is 30.00

I know how you feel...I had to spring $50 to get one for Linus that fit, and he's almost too big for it! But if he ever grows out of it, I know where to send it. I'm getting him the step-in one from imapreciouspup for $20 when I get my student aid. I'll lend you his other one until you can find one for her once I get that one if you want...

You are such a doll....if i cant find one then i would love it if you could lend it to me. Keep your fingers crossed matthew has a second interview for Assistant manager at Hollywood video tomorrow. That would so help us out.

Bryan doesn't have a job, and hasn't the entire time we have been together. I pay for everything, and thankfully I have a great job (with my mom) so we can afford to live. I wish he would get one though, we would be rich LOL No prob in lending you the other one...it's adjustable, and if it's small on Linus, it should fit Luna. I'm ordering the other one soon.

Have you read the posts under Products about Harnesses? I posted a similar question, looking for something for Shelby. She is still pretty tiny but I found one at Petsmart that works for now. I am going to try one of the suggestions that others made but you might want to read the posts there. http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...=1123555370892

yeah we tryed one of those on her but i am afraid its going to hurt her little throat

Daisy wears a cat harness from Petsmart. It's in the shape of a figure 8, and snaps underneath her belly. It has a D-ring on the upperside to attach a leash.

You might try putting it on her and immediately giving her a treat, praising her, and then taking the collar off right away. Do that a few times and then gradually increase the amount of time she has the collar on from a few minutes to ten minutes to half an hour, etc...
If she sees having the collar on as a positive experience, maybe she will get used to it. Good luck!!

We just got back from the vet and petsmart (had to buy her greenies for not crying when she got her shots) and i found a really small step in harness for only 8.99 so we got it..its red though not really girly but thats ok the good news is she likes it much better than she did the collar. Bad news is its a little big so her leg keeps getting caught oh well its a gradual thing.
