Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() Since Cali has been sleeping in my beds the past 2 weeks we both sleep better. She can get down on steps and use her wee wee pad but lately she sleeps all night gets up aroung 6:30 and gives me a little kiss and runs down her steps to her wee wee pad and runs back up to me to play. Only problem is that she likes to sleep in the middle of my favorite, I can't sleep without down pillow, so we are learning to share!

| ![]() How old is Cali . . . I think I still have a long way to go as far as Tiger is concerned when it comes to sleeping in my bed. He is quiet throughout the night in his crate but if I put him on mine, his sleeps are short then he starts to wander off and explores my bed. He is only 8 weeks old, could that be why? I would love for my Tiger to have a stairs similar to yours but for now, I do not want him to wander around in case he relieves himself. He is confined to my Laundry room, which is huge for his size, and I have a pee pee pad set up there . . . .since I have not allowed him to explore my house yet, he won't know how to get there . . . . Can you give me tips on how you trained Cali to sleep in your bed? ![]() |

| ![]() Binks is 14 weeks and sleeps with my 15 year old daughter in her bed, unless its a weekend and shes got company and is staying up late, then I take him to bed with us, He hasn't ever had an accident in the bed and sleeps all night. My poodle Tigger has always slept with us, though unlike Binks he won't sleep anywhere but at our feet, Binks likes to curl up near your chest. They are so spoiled. ![]() |

| ![]() Your first mistake calling it your bed. IT is the dog's bed they just allow you to sleep in it to help keep them warm. We are nothing more then a live electric blanket to be used for their comfort. Wait till they take the pillows over. |

| ![]() I don't want to be a wet blanket here (pun intended) ![]() Jasper and Angel slept in our bed for about 5 years, with occasional midnight fall-offs, but no damage. They were quite welcome there until one really bad week when they both had diareah... that was the end of that. They slept in their crate for the rest of their days. AND after what happened to my Wosie this week... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23967 I would never consider letting her sleep with us.

| ![]() Wow Tiger's mom!!! That is so cool. So have you been here? Actually I am chinese . I was already born and raised here though. Yorkie's are very rare here. So Glad they have a forum like these. Is it true that even if they are toilet trained after a while they tend to spray around??? I hope not. |

| ![]() But how did you train Binks to sleep in your daughter's bed . . . it couldn't just happen right? My concern is if Tiger wanders over the down and ends up falling off the bed. Do I need to get him familiarized with the size, and have him explore? I need more specific tips . . . . ![]() |

| ![]() Hello DocShe . . .of course I have been there . . . I was born there, raised there and even gave birth to my only child. I speak the language fluently. I am new at taking care of dogs but have read that any dog/puppy will not relieve themselves other than where they normally do it, provided they have been trained well. |

| ![]() When my dogs were little puppies they were kept in a Xpen at night. When they started to take to the potty training about 4 months old we let them start sleeping in the bed. There were a couple of accidents on the bed though.

| ![]() Well we didn't train him to sleep there, she just took him to bed with her from the very first day we got him. And he's such a sleepy head he sleeps all night long. I've always let my babies sleep with me for well over 25 years with no mishaps so far, thankfully. My daughter has made a makeshift stair which Binks can use if he needs to go potty on the pee pad, which he has only used a couple times when we have slept later than normal and he can't hold it. But I'm sure that a pup would be happy whether you start them out in a crate or in the bed, I think its just a matter of what they get used to. My neice is crate training her little Shih Tzu and the pup seems happy with that because thats what shes used to. Now as for the potty training during the day, we're having a harder time lol. It seems at night when he's shut up in the bedroom he don't want to mess the carpet so he goes to the pad, but during the day he don't care to mess the rest of the house. ![]() |
