| Treat help for training Help! my puppy doesnt like treats: at all.... I have tried: 11 different kinds of store bought treats (including freeze dried liver) cheese, hotdogs, ham/chicken, peanut butter, etc. She's really not big in to her toys either. How can I potty train her, etc, without the help of food? Ive been giving her lots of praise, but thats not doing it by itself. I was thinking of trying clicker training, but they say to associate the clicker with a treat at the begining, and I cant b/c she wont eat the treats! Arg!

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Have you tried Yorkie Yummies? They are made by a member here (Chattie'sMom) and all 5 of my yorkies just go crazy for them! Do a search on here for Yorkie Yummies - there are tons of post about them.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | People food...such as cherrios or a small bit of cheese. Mine gang also love love love chicken jerky. In our house there are no other treats...Ramsey will take a treat...and if it is the chicken...she will promptly spit it out and bark at me. I want the good treats.

| When I first got my pup she didn't like the treats I tried either. I came across the Wellness Just For Puppies treats and she LOVES them. They are big so I break them up. Cheerios are something she likes too. |

| Yes, try cheerioes. Maybe a little bit of cream cheese on your finger that she can lick? The Kong brand has a paste they sell to put in there toys, maybe a little of that on your finger or the kong. I think they come in liver, chicken, and peanut butter flavors. Meeko loves apples! He went nuts the first time I gave them to him!

| I tried a few different treats with Harley in the beginning, and while she usually ate them, she didn't get real excited about them and it was hard to keep her attention for training with them, including peanut butter. But I came across Zuke's Mini Naturals (I think from a post on here) and ordered a small bag in each flavor (chicken, peanut butter, and salmon) and she LOVES them. I had to cut some up for her class last night and as I was carrying them into the kitchen, she saw the bag and was bouncing and whining and running, waiting for me to give her one of them. That's how you think a dog is supposed to act for any treat, but Harley only does it for Zuke's. (She also did not care for the instructor/trainer's homemade liver treats which all the other dogs in the class loved) |

| I trained by Elvira (she's two now) and managed to retrain my 12 year old yorkie somewhat with "Cheerieos". Only cheerieos. They think those are the greatest treats in the world. Elvira shakes hands, rolls over and shows her tummy, does "dancing baby", sits, lays down and all just for ONE cheerio. It's the greatest thing I tried and it still works. Added advantage - fluffy poop (no constipation) and they are low cal, and good for them.
