![]() you dont want to leave her in there too long....... couple hours maximum for a four monthh old....... mine is four and a half months and his max time before having to get out and go potty is 3-4 hours....... we devised a way to confine him in a certain "hallway" (about 3 ft by 4 feet)...... and now the purpose of his crate is really to offer him his own little place where he feels safe....... you dont want to teach them thtat it is ok to eliminate where their living area is, so they have to be let out every couple hours to go potty \

| ![]() My 4 months old can hold it from midnight until 6 or 7 am, but I limit his food and drink in the evening though, he likes to drink and eat a lot. Otherwise, he will have accidents in his crate for sure. He's currently just over 2 lbs. During the day, we take him out every 4 hours or so, plus before and after meals. Quote:

![]() I would say at least once a night Ringo if possible. If you can get them to associate barking or alerting you when they need to go, that'd be good as well. Welcome to YT Ringo!

![]() Oh... Toby is adorable... and so are all the beautiful Yorkies in this site! Nina is having a little hard time... she loves to poop everywhere. She's only 3 mo. but hopefully she will make up her mind soon... Last edited by avborges; 01-27-2005 at 10:03 AM.

![]() Three months is VERY young. She'll learn. Right now its hard for her to keep control too, you've got to remember. When her bowel muscles become stronger and she becomes more coordinated, she'll get better about not going in the house . .. chin up. ![]()
