Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Ok my fellow potty strugglers...tell me what you think!!! Ok Zoey is now 8 months. For the most part she is doing decently with her potty training but by now I feel she should be doing better. I am usually her primary care giver but while I am out at work I will have my daughter Amber walk her when she gets home from school. Today I was tired but I got up and walked her early in the a.m. Then later on in the day I had Amber walk her several times because I was busy but I wanted her to go out and not pee/poo in the house. On Sunday I usually make a big old meal and we are sure to sit down at the table together. So I was busy with all that but she went out lots because I make sure Amber takes her out for me. Anyhow we sit down to dinner a quarter to 4 and I know Amber had just taken her out. She comes over to where I was sitting and peed on the floor. She knew she was wrong and took off. Now my thing is did she purposely do it to say like hey mom remember me. She could have peed in any of four huge rooms...but she chose to do it next to my chair at the table. It gave me reason to think today because many moons ago my husband had a pitbull that would essentially do things like that for attention if he felt he was being ignored by his daddy. By 8 months Zoey's sister Lulu (RIP Baby Girl) was totally housebroken. I am wondering if this is what is going on with her. She doens't suffer from seperation anxiety but the minute I get home she has to be near me or she puts up a hell of a ruckus that you would think it was a huge dog that was calling. So your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

| Tucker is almost 8 months. He too is close to being housebroken. He doesn't go anywhere and everywhere like he used to, but when he does need to go, he won't wait long. I've found that taking him out every two hours or so keeps him from going in the house. I don't have to keep as close an eye on him as I used to, but when I get really busy, I put him in his crate to make sure he doesn't have an accident. He had an xpen, But I've done away with that. It had it's time and place when he was a small puppy and couldn't hold it at all. But now I've found the crate to be the best helper in really housebreaking him. Good Luck! |

| I'm really no expert but here are my thoughts.... for whatever reason, maybe she was distracted outside, maybe she just didn't really have to go then but then she came in and decided wow, I really have to go NOW! We've all had that happen, right? Well, she came over to you and sent you a psychic message but you just aren't as good at reading minds as dogs are and you didn't get the message and she just couldn't hold it anymore. At least that's what I like to think happened. Someday, I hope to be a really good psychic but for now..... |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | OH T...thanks for the laugh..psychic..lol. Nah she went. Zoey makes it her mission to pee all over outside to claim her territory. I am wondering if she is just an ornery heffa...lol.

| I had this happen last night with Baxter. He was taken out and peed and then came in and peed on the comforter on the bed and I had just changed the sheets and it went all the way through. Normally he will whine if he is on the bed and wants to go. That is my one "safe" place to have him. And we are having issues with walking and walking and then coming in and pooping on the carpet. I am about ready to SCREAM. If I wasn't so crazy about him, I'd give him away! (Can you tell I was mad?) |

| I would bet she is expressing a little anger about you being so busy. However I did once have a cat who started going in the house next to me and it turned out he had stones, I guess it was his way of alerting me that there was a problem. I will say the one thing that has saved my sanity with housebreaking is the litterbox, because he will always go back to it if we don't get him outside in time. I would like to eventually get rid of it completely but not sure how we will ever get there. Good Luck |

Today I left her in the crate when I took the kids to the park, library and to get some shoes. When I get home hubby had taken her out of her crate to play with her...sure she put up some sort of a ruckus or something. Anyhow what do I see a pee spot. I told him if you want to play with her then walk her first and then play. You can't let her loose and not expect to later find a spot. He was like well we wanted to play and wrestle. I wanted to punch them both in the head. He loves to play with her and cuddle with her but walk her yeah right. Like dude you can take her to our backyard and no one would see the big man walking the little dog...lol. Ugg I get so frustrated because I know she can do it. I hate having to keep the doors closed so she won't go pee on the are rugs.
