| 4mth old- Is it Alright to Sleep on my Bed? Hi, I was wondering, is it alright for my 4 months old puppy to sleep in my bed sometimes all night and some other nights in his crate? Or should I be consistent with the crate? I don't mind him sleeping on my bed but when my boyf comes over there is just no room for the three of us! And I am still crating him during the day, will allowing him to sleep with me at night make crating during the day worse? Any advice? Thanks! |

| My 4 month old is just too little to sleep on the bed at night. She could easily fall off or jump and get hurt. I put her in her crate at night, on my bed, next to my head. During the day I have a pen with room for her to move about and play if she wants.

| All three of my Yorkies from the time they came home as babies were in my bed. Never rolled over on them, helped with bonding. I am lucky to be home all day, so crating is not a issue, I admit it is hard for me to think about my little Yorkies in crate all day, however I must respect your choice. Might consider Bigger bed so there is room for everone. My senior 3lb. is 14 1/2 and never a problem. They are more like babies wanting to be with you! last suggestion. There are soft sided little houses with mesh , and they can see out screen, has faux sheepskin pad you can remove to clean, and you can zip up at night. I put my 9week old in his little house on my bed. He loves it. As he got a little older, I let him choose . You can also take it with you as carrier, etc. If intrested, I can tell you where to buy one. Good Luck with sleeping solutions

| Murfee has slept in bed with us since the night we got him when he was 8 weeks old. He is 4 now. I get lonely when he decides to sleep in his napsak instead of the bed.

| Hello and welcome to YT! Everyone's situation is different and I'm sure you will get many points of view . Lucy has slept with Thomas and me since day one with no problems and Lucy is 3.5 lbs. at 1 year. Believe me, she lets us know if we get too close to her in the middle of the night. I would say consistency is best though so in my opinion I would have her one or the other, not switching back and forth. JMO.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 5 in my bed but I am a light sleeper and they all knwo where to sleep. When I got Roxie she was 20 weeks old and a little under 3 lbs. The first night I kept her in a crate next to my bed and she was ok for a few hours and then wanted out. The next day she learned how to use the ramp next to my bed so let her sleep with me and she did fine, I get up during the night for my older pom, so I just have Roxie go potty then and back to bed. I think it may be hard to switch back and forth betwen crate and bed, bt you can try and see.
