| ![]() I'm about to start teaching Tucker to "stay". I need a release word for him to know he can get up? Any ideas or suggestions? |

| ![]() I use OK for mine. and boy do they know what that means. I keep them penned oyut of the living room during the day, so in the evening when I remove the gate to let them in, I make them all 'wait". they all sit there, not too patienly, LOL until I give the OK and then it's like a sampede. |

| ![]() I use the word "Break" -- I was going to use "ok" but I use that word a lot in regular speech and I was afraid that it was confusing. It doesn't matter what word you use, just use one that you will remember and is comfortable for you. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I tought my guy OK. What I did is when he comes in from going outside I first make him sit. Then I wipe his feet. Then I ensure he is sitting again and tell him to stay. I then moved away slowly and if he moved I would put him back, make him sit and tell him stay. Then after a bit I would tell him OK and he would then move. It took me a week but he now knows that OK means go do what you want. I use it to give him permission to leave his bed when he asks and other things. I think OK is fine to use as he's only really listening out for the word when he's in the stay situation.

| ![]() Bentley doesn't move at all until I move him myself. He kind of self-stays. hehe. No matter what word I use he just looks at me like I am crazy. |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | ![]() I use "OK" to release from a sit/stay and for every main door (like our patio door where she goes out potty) Izzy has to enter she waits and then I say OK and she comes in. ![]()
