That is awful. I didn't even have to watch the videos to see the pain that poor Chai went thru. Just seeing the picture alone is enough.

OMG ... I am in tears .... I have tried to watch the movie and I could not see him so helpless and in so much pain ...... poor Chai ... I hope he will fell better asap ....

Actually, it seems that the ball pictue you put up would be okay. Chai's ball had no holes and when he bit through it the ball suctioned to his tongue. If there was an additional hole in there the suction effect wouldn't have happened. At least thats the way I understand it.

i thought his ball had just 1 hole that is what cause the suction...if i read that correctly...according to what the vet told the owners...i may be wrong.

You are correct. The ball has one small hole causing a sunction effect. The first picture in Chai's story is the ball after they cut it to remove his tongue. I don't think the story mentions that Chai bit through the ball making a hole.

your correct.... there was a hole ALREADY in the toy. When a dog squeezes the ball with his/her teeth, it makes the hole a little bigger and causes the suction/vacuum effect, so that when the dog stops squeezing it the tongue gets sucked in and stuck in the hole. There is another link in Chai's story about another dog's tongue getting stuck in the same ball. You can see the ball actually stuck on the dogs tongue.

Our dogs have this ball. It's a little too big for Tatum to get her mouth around it to bite it and cause the suction but Stormie could bite it. I will throw it away as soon as I get home. Thanks!

That brought me to tears. That poor, poor guy. How horrible. He many never want to see another ball as long as he lives and I wouldn't blame him.
Looks like he's going to make some adjustments in order to eat and drink which is great. Bless you all for doing such a wonderful job with him.
