| The Raw Food Diet Or Not? Hi there, I've been learning about some yorkie owners feeding their yorkies the raw food diet, I'm wondering what others know, think, feel about this experience, as it's now something I am considering for my little guy. |

| A raw food diet is great for your dog but it's EXPENSIVE and TIME CONSUMING. If you can keep up with it, it's a lot healthier and dog prefer it to dry food. Since your puppy is most likley on dry food you would have to wean it over to the raw food. You can research that on google. If you have pet network, theres a great episode of pet central about a raw food diet for dogs. It's also been proven that dogs on a raw food diet live longer than dogs on dry food. If you do decide to switch to raw food, good luck!!!!!!!

Do you have a lot of Asian marketplaces where you're at? If so, you're in luck! You'll get all the "icky" stuff that you need! If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me and I can send you some info. AAAAAAND I just realized that this thread is 2 years old... HA HA!

And we love hearts in this house. I also cut them up in halves and leave as whole and dehydrate them and give them as treats. Major love!

| I use a dehydrator! I dehydrate a ton of chicken too. I have yet to meet a pup or cat that doesn't like it, even "picky" kids! I have never made anything in a dehydrator myself....I really want to start.

| if you like mushrooms, or even if you don't.. i don't really care for them, but i like these.. you slice a bunch up. and mix in a bowl with some olive oil and what ever spices you like. and dehydrate for a couple of hours. they turn black and are very tastey.. |

| Raw diet is for me So after that last post question about the raw diet, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I am sooooo happy that I did. With a few simple questions to a few who already were using this, it was seamless and my dogs are so grateful for my decision I am feeding them raw bold (chicken, beef and rabbit) and they are thriving on it. Yay. The biggest surprised is HOW easy it was. I pictured a big time/effort commitment (not that my dogs aren't worth it but I'm a busy pet/human mommy)... It was as easy as buying and serving kibble except I buy and serve raw. Same store. Same bowls. Dogs LOVE it so much more! As a side note, my two both loss a tiny bit of weight when starting the recommended servings for their size so if your dog had a few pounds to lose I would recommend this even more!!! I have one now who needs to gain a pound, so I simple give her more than the recommended amount and she is a happy Yorkie. good luck |

| Totally Raw Diet Positive! Both our girls are on a raw diet, pre-made and frozen called Pets 4 Life. We get it at Menagerie Pet Store on Parliament Street. The girls also get vitamin and mineral supplements, virgin coconut oil, digestive enzymes and cold water fish oils. And our older girl also gets Sasha's Blend for her torn cruciate and arthritis. |
