| Beware of "Ada" in Livermore, CA!! Beware of this lady who owns a maltese breeding website and also sells yorkies for her "friend". After doing a lil research I found out the yorkies are from Missouri. Last week, she sold me a yorkie with very lil hair on his legs and hairless tail. She claim the puppy will grow his hair back and has absolutely nothing wrong with him. I trusted her since she seems like a nice honest lady, so I brought the puppy home. 4 days after I brought the vet told me that he has an abnormal hair growth problem and may never grow his hair back. I tried to complain to her that she lied and sold me a defective dog but in return, her reason was you signed the contract, I got 2 days to bring him to vet and he is sold "as is". At one moment, she screamed at me, told me not to call back or else she will call the police, and hung up. I tried to email her a few more times but no response yet. So watch out for this lady from this site: http://sweetmaltesepups.com/default.aspx I have posted these pics in another thread but will post here also for you to see of his hairless legs. |

| She used to have the new owners' and sold yorkies name on her site but now they are all gone. I even saw my name on there last time. Hmm... I will post a pic of my puppy's hairless tail later... |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I read your other posts and the pictures don't really look that bad - I wouldn't call him 'defective' - he looks cute and while I can see the hair loss - he isn't bald like I envisioned. What I wanted to say NICELY is if you had doubts - you should have walked away - but since you did buy him it's going to be hard to resolve this so, IF I were you - I'd just love him and hope for the best - he very well could grow that hair as long as he's healthy then you're already ahead of the game - We're seeing way too many sick puppies out there these days so a little hair problem in the bigger scope of things isn't really that bad. I'm glad you posted this though - these breeders need to stand behind their puppies - a good breeder would work with you - the bad breeders care nothing about the puppies and just want your money and she sure sounds like a terrible breeder. |

| That poor baby....maybe you could get an opinion from a vet that specializes in skin conditions in pets...his condition may be treatable.... I know it's not what you bargained for, even though it is hopefully minor considering all the other terrible health problems, but on the other hand at least he is now in the hands of a caring and concerned owner...I hope his condition is just temporary ...good luck...

| Awwww, he looks so sweet! I have never seen that before. Did she ever tell you what made the hair fall out in the first place, or was he born like that? |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I noticed she had a bunch of references and happy buyers on her website. Maybe you can see if you can find these people--they may have more information on her. Was there a sales contract? What did it say about health issues? Did you pay her through a credit card or paypal or a check? Did the check go through a bank where you could identify an account number? Villette made a good point here. What do you want? Payment for extra vet visits? Return the puppy and get a refund? Just tell folks about a breeder who is not ethical and you want to keep the puppy? You might have to hire a private investigator to locate "Ada" as it sounds like you don't have very much information to work from to locate her. |

| His legs are not as bad as his tail. He prob has a few strands of hair left on his tail. I took some pic of that but its too high resolution so cant post it, but will post some soon. All I can say is his tail looks like a cut off rat tail, with bare skin. Well, speaking of happy owners, she posted every buyer as a happy owner. I was one of them before. A friend who I referred and purchased a puppy the next day after I did was also a happy owner on her site. |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I'm so sorry about this. I agree that there could be much WORSE that could be wrong with him (so be thankful that there isn't)...but the bottom line is that she shouldn't be treating you like that. Screaming at you, threatening to call the cops, and hanging up on you - all because you have concerns about your baby. She sounds like an AWFUL breeder who doesn't give a lick about her babies. So sad

| It just got worse... got a call from family after work and was told the puppy got really sick. shaking, coughing constantly and vomitted. brought him to the vet hospital and got x-rayed and found out he got pnemonia. The vet wanted him to stay there overnite and now is on air support. My poor baby... he looks so sad when we went in to see him after we went to pick up the drug. I dont understand why the hospital doesnt even have the antibotics. They have to write us the prescription and we have to spend over an hour at walgreens for the drug in the middle of the night. Hopefully the med works cuz he deserves better than that. This really worries me since I know a friend who lost his yorkie puppy due to pnemonia also... |
