Isn't that just awful. Those poor babies. I hope they can stop them, wonder what other States are buying puppies from out of Country? Is there any sites on the web selling puppies through Korea? I mean don't U have to have solid proof before U write anyone? I don't know I'm new at this and trying to learn the laws and what to do and not to do. How in the world do they find people like this in other Countries? Word of mouth? Newspapers? Just wondering how and where they get started in this.

Some of these here in this post don't live to far from me either. I don't see how U can live that close it would drive me batty, I'd be one driving by just to see if I could get a peek at the puppies or be making calls to go in and view them.

I went to the http://www.millbusters.com/forums/index.php I didn't even know it was around, I'm gonna join it too if I can. I had no really idea how bad the puppy mills was here in Indiana & still don't I'm still trying to see/figure out what I can do to help put some of these guys here close to me out of buisness. I too have visited the Star Yorkie Kennel and was pleased with what I saw. I got my little girl Gigi from Ben and Gina. It is obvious that they love these pups based on the temperment of their dogs. I am living on a fixed income and Ben was the ONLY breeder that wasn't in it purely for profit. Anyone can speculate but only those of us who have been there can testify as to any conditions at the kennel. I for one entered the raffel and hope to God I win.

I am subscribed and had harsh opinions on the other forum you posted on....so I came here to respond to you.....First of all, if you were TRULY here to research and learn from YT, then welcome. However, I find it very interesting that the ONLY 2 posts you had were to tell how great Ben and Gina are. (Gina~Gigi???...hmmmm...similar) Anyway, there are a few things I hope you will learn here. #1 as we told Ben in his other forum that its funny that the only people who back him are newbies with only one or two posts...and funny as it is...that actually makes Ben look even worse!! (Dont forget that we all also know the trick that the same people can and DO sign on here with several different screen names trying to act like someone else and say good things about themselveles and lemme tell ya...thats old!!) and
#2 the word teacup is EXTREMELY frowned upon around here. "Teacups" are not recognized as breed standard because they are unhealthy and it is plain cruel to breed small mothers for even smaller pups. I dont think you are in the right place if you are looking to change anyone's opinion of that. HOWEVER Gigi~~ If you are legit, then I truly hope to see more posts from you on say, maybe the health and diet threads etc....because now that you are a "teacup" owner..I hope you recognize that you have a VERY fragile precious baby that needs EXTREME care and caution. I would rather hope you use these forums to promote your knowledge of care for these small babies instead of promoting STAR......com~~~because, to put it simply, if you havent already caught on from the other thread you posted on too....we simply will never buy that Ben and Gina are nothing but a PUPPYMILL. I can understand that it looks like I only sighned up to toot Ben and Gina's horn, however it's with great surprise that I found them talked about on this site! Because of how gratefull I am is exactly why I felt I had to join and right a wrong. I am new to the Yorkie breed and will continue to share and ask for help/advice. I was at Star Yorkie Kennel on Friday April 4, 2008 and that is when I became Gigi's mom. As I learn the site I will try to put a picture of Gigi and I under my name like all of you. I will also update you on how she's doing. Right now I am Having difficulty switching Gigi to a doggie litter pan? Any suggestions? I am disabled and can not get her outside quick enough sometimes. Im sorry if I personally offended you in my previous post. My thoughts about Star Yorkie do not relay onto you as a fellow Yorkie Mommy and Lover. So as a new mommy, please accept my apology and welcome. ;)

As for the litter pan question, I am also looking into trying that as I am moving and believe that type of potty training may now suit Pokey and I best. Im starting to research litter pan as opposed to my original indoor method of the pee pad. Anyway, in the near future I plan to post this question in the training section. I can't believe this person had the nerve to sign up here. Ben, 'with all the respect' if your family is such a reputable breeder, please post pics of your wife's family's breeding operation in Korea. I saw a PETA video that shows the open markets in those countries that sells dogs and cats that are chopped up on the spot for dinner. YUCK. For all we know, the sick puppies that no one wants to eat were shipped off to the US to the poor unsuspecting buyer.

Don't get worked up. Nothing we say effects him or others like him. The best we can do is educate people and hope they see it for what it is. You'll never see pictures of where these pups come from. Someone else asked too and I think they said that he told them it was not possible to get the pictures. All brokers have the same statement "They have family overseas that breed." It's a crock. They save a lot of money buying these pups from overseas. It's the new market place. And you can't imagine how cheap they get them for. I've seen one person selling a "Designer dog." for $800. That dog was bought from overseas. Figure the cost of shipping and what they have to make to stay in business and they probably paid $100 for that dog if that. Elaine

We dont have enough puppies here in the US already that they have to be shipped in? No one needs to expect any photos of the kennels out of the US. They would just be fabricated anyway:rolleyes:
I will never get over the raffle. I think it is irresponsible and does not show to me they care where there puppies end up.
And to Gigi's mom...thanks for saying you just signed up to "toot' their horn, because now I will not have to continue to wonder.

I RAISED SAMSON OUR 120 POUND ROTWEILER WITH MY THREE YOUNG CHILDREN. I READ EVERY BOOK I COULD FIND ON HIS BREAD AND CONSEQUENTLY, HE BEHAVED BETTER THAN THE KIDS. IT BROKE MY HEART TO PUT HIM DOWN FOR ADVANCED HIP DYSPLACIA. AFTER A FEW YEARS OF BEING DOG LESS i BECAME DISABLED AND WANTED A LAP DOG. I THEW THAT THERE WOULD BE DIFFERENCE AS I HELPED MY DAD TRAIN HIS POMERANIAN. I READ AND RESHEARCH AS MUCH AS I COULD AND STARTED WITH THE AKC YORKSHIRE BOOK. I KNEW THEN THAT I DID NOT WANT TO SHOW HER, JUST TO LOVE HER. SOON AFTER I STARTED LOOKING ON THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THEY JUST WANTED TO FLY A DOG TO YOU AND I WANTED TO SEE THE PARENTS AND THEIR LIVING CONDITIONS WERE. I ALSO CONTACTED MANY BREEDERS BY PHONE YET STILL THEY TOO JUST WANTED ME TO MAIL MONEY AND THEY WOULD FLY THE DOG TO ME. A FEW MONTHS WENT BY AND I HAD JUST FINISHED MY KIDNEY CANCER SURGERY SO MY SEARCH TOOK ON A DIFFERENT ASPECT. I COULD NO LONGER AFFORD A NEW YORKIE SO I PUT MY STORY OUT THERE AND BEN WAS THE ONLY BREEDER THAT WAS EVEN WILLING TO LISTEN. AFTER SOME TIME BEN AND GINA DECIDED TO GIVE GIGI TO ME. I AM SO GRATEFUL BUT I STILL NEED TO KNOW HOW TO BE THE BEST YORKIE MOM I CAN BE. I NEVER LEAVE HER HOME ALONE. GIGI GOES TO ALL MY DOCTORS APPT. AND TO THE STORE, WHEREVER I GO GIGI GOES. IF IT WASN'T FOR GIGI NEEDING TO GO POTTY IN THE MORNINGS i may not have gotten up that day! GGIGI IS MY CONSTANT COMPANION. I LOVE HER SO MUCH. I am sorry to hear of your experience with cancer. however i would think that the doctors you are going to see are also seeing cancer patients. Ones that not only received surgery, but chemo. chemo makes people immunocompromized. So i cant imagine a doctor allowing a dog in the office. is gigi a certified service dog?

After Joining I Told Ben That I Joined Due To The Strong Feelings I Had About What Was Being Said About Them. He Seemed As Though He Thought What I Was Thinking That Most Of The Negative Comments Were From Assumptions. I Have Had Gigi For A Month Now And I Have Not Recieved any Papers From Them. Not Rabies, Health Cert. Or Kdf Reg Despite My Phone Requests. I Still Know What I Saw And I Did See A Clean Home With Two Female Yorkies And One Male Stud. I Could See How Gigi Looked Just Like The Daddy. However, I Only Saw One Tiny Pom. I Could Not See Every Room But There Was One Pom. Gigi Was Given To Me At 8 Months Of Age And She Is Healthy But I Had To Get Her The Rabbies Shot And Still No Papers? Maybe It Was Because? I Don't Know? I Just Know That He Was Kind Enough To Give Me Gigi Whom I Wouldn't Trade For Anything. Yet Ben Has Not Made Good On What He Told Me He Would Do. Last But Not Least. I Do Take Gigi In A Bag To My Kaiser Dr. And I Have Kidney Cancer That Is Only Treatable With Surgery. I Lost My Bussiness In April 2007 And Had Most Of My Left Kidney Removed On June 19, 2007. I Hope I Shed Some Light On All This Mess And I Will Only Post About What I Know Of First Hand.

I just want to share my opinion. I come from Taiwan, Asia. For kennels in Taiwan. They are breeding for money....and profit and will breed any size of dogs...even the tiny. They are puppymills and lock their dogs in tiny cages...believe me they proabably never have come out of their tiny cages.This is very sad but this is reality. I visited a yorkie kennel in taiwan two years ago.( they breed for tiny teacup yorkies) They locked their dogs in small cages in the attic. They do not do any testing on their dogs before breeding. Please do not buy any dog from Asia country....because you are mostly likely supporting puppymills.:thumbdown
