Beware of Breeder in Martinsville IN

I just read this thread... that woman sounds like a real piece of work, I wouldnt call her anymore, but keep making calls and whatever you have to do to shut her down.....so she said animal control didnt find anything? meaning they think her setup is ok? and to have puppies in that filth and not taken care of? or did I read into that the wrong way? here where I live in Pa they would take your dogs for less than that. I know because they took a neighbors dogs for having them out in the summer with no water , food , or shade. I hope your baby is ok and your friends gets better soon....sending prayers to you both and the babies

This makes me soooo angry!!! How can people do this and get away with it!?! I wish you luck in shutting her down permanently, she deserves the same treatment she gave the pups!!! Keep trying and never give up until she is shut down!!

Animal Control told me (in this breeders town) that they and AKC have both visted this ladies house and AKC called her before they showed up, so this gave them a heads up and she was able to move the dogs, so AKC did not find anything. Animal Control told me that they have taken the cases to the prosecuting attorney and they wont do anything about it, they say it's not bad enough!!! So they dont seem to mind that 4 pups have died and the filth that these pups are living in, it's ok?? She told me that a human has to catch something before they will do anything. She said that more then likely the 4 other cases and Penny are going to have to get together and sue this lady.

I don't understand, I guess define the word animal cruelty? Why are different states more strict then others? Are there certain laws where breeders have to follow? I'm sure she is not turning this in on her taxes, so more then likely she is commiting tax fraud, I dont know that for 100%, but if she is going to allow other people to see her filthy place, then I doubt she really gives a rats a$$ on the law.

I will be calling animal control monday morning to see what they found out today, they had told me that Lois would not allow them to go in certain areas, I wonder if they will have to get a order to do that?

Update on Ellie

Penny has been feeding her and taking care of her so good, I commend her so much, she has truly fell in love with this little girl.
Ellie is eating good, she has her on a diet of science diet mixed with cottage cheese and water. and then in between feedings she is giving her nutrical for puppies.
When I was over there yesterday, Ellie was following Penny around and seemed a little playful.
She is suppose to take her back to the vet in 2 weeks with another stool sample. I hope she gains some weight in the mean time.

I pray and pray that this baby makes it and turns out to be a wonderful little girl for Penny.

Ohh I did think about it, I walked out to get the camera out of penny's truck, but she had locked it. I wish I would have had a camera phone, then I could have really had some good proof!

Oh my gosh Missy, you gutsy girl. You stand up for these little poor defensless puppies!! I am so proud of you!! I dont blame you for doing what you did at all and that is great that Penny didnt tell her your name. That is hilarous!! I just read this to my hubby and he was like--SHUT HER DOWN MISSY!! How could someone sell a puppy that she knew had coccidia and was on medication for it, but not tell the person? First of all how could she sell her period, let alone NOT tell the person and disclose that she is on meds and would continue to need to be on them until cleared up. That is wrong wrong wrong. How could she be so crass and just say SO??!! You just keep doing what you are doing.

How come your friend paid the full amount before seeing the puppy and the breeder? Usually you give only a deposit...

maybe you could have another freind call her about buying a puppy or through email get them to act like they are from out of town or something and they can go and take pics and see the dogs or maybe get animal control to do it that way so those people wouldn't know any better and treat them the same way that you got to see ...just an idea i don't see how people like that can slepp through the night letting those little puppys suffer!

I am so sorry to hear that you two are still going through such pain from this woman.. but i have to tell you i just read you last thread and as awful as everything that you are going through, i sat here and thought, yep i would have called the woman, and yes i would have kept on calling her. i am the same way when i am "hot" about something. I hope she gets shut down and fined and looses everything. I will keep you and penny in my prayers. please let us know how everyone is doing..

If you knew Penny, she is such a kind hearted woman, and she talked to this woman on the phone almost every night, and the woman came across as a very caring lady, Penny trusted her, and it's sad to say, you cant trust people you dont know or who you havent talked to face to face or over and over again, and bless her heart, she thought since she runs a "business" then she had to be trust worthy.

All Penny wanted was a baby to love, she is so sweet and caring, and she has done so much for this little girl in the few days that she has had her, it's not fair that good people like her are being taken advantage of and getting away with it.

I know she has learned a valuble lesson, it's to bad she had to learn it like this.
I just pray baby Ellie will be fine, she is such a sweetie. You should see the little dresses Penny has made her, you would just awww over them, there so small but she looks like a little princess in them.

It is so fruustrating that people get by with this stuff. And what is worse yet, they don't care at all about the dogs.

I'm sure that one day she will get caught. You have done all that you can, and you managed to rescue one of them. I hope that she makes it, because I doubt that her 1 year guarantee is worth the paper that it is written on.

If you go and visit her can you pick up the germs on your shoes and carry it back to Lillie. I have no idea. I'm stupid about those things, but I know some stuff gets spread around that way. I sure hope Ellie will be ok. I'll be praying for everyone. Give Lillie kisses from me and Maddie.

I don't think so, but I'm not 100% sure either, I think they get it with contact with the pooh. I will be taking Lillie in in about 2 weeks to be tested.
