| Jeanne, you have given me courage to speak! I started this thread, yet I have not posted my breeder! LOL, I am surprised no one has commented on that. Y'all are a LOT more polite than me! I got Wosie from a back yard breeder. Having had prior experience with puppy mills, you would have thought I would have avoided that situation. Let me tell you why I did not. In my search for a yorkie puppy when Jasper was ill, we visited a half dozen breeders in our area. All of them were home-raised, and there were varying degrees of standard (or lack thereof) in the parents, siblings, and other furry relatives in the home. Simply because a dog is "home raised" does not give it quality. It gives it socialization, but the standards are in the blood lines. Most of these dogs did not look good. Wosie's breeder had pugs, yorkies, and a few chihuahuas. There were about a dozen dogs in her spotlessly clean home. But outside in the yard was a pretty little building where she kept the majority of her dogs. Each dog had his own enclosed open kennel run where they could go in and out of the building at will. All the runs were kept free of waste with an ingenious cleaning system that her husband had designed and built for her. All of the dogs would come to the fences, tails wagging and friendly, not aggressive or shy. It was obvious to me that although they did not live inside the house, they were loved and well cared for. Linda described ber breeding program, and it was obvious that she was interested in the breeding standards, but did not have enough room in her home (doublewide) to keep all her dogs inside. Did I have doubts about her? It was hard not to, with all the dogs that were there. "Puppy mill" rang in my mind. But after talking with her for a while and understanding where she was coming from, I decided that the quality of the dogs she kept and the care she took to set them up right made her program higher quality that some of the "home raised" pups we had seen recently. So we got Wosie. Admittedly, I was still having doubts after we got her, and as some of you remember, I questioned early on Wosie's lack of standard qualities. Come to find out, she is merely a late bloomer. You have seen my pup's pictures, and you know she gets prettier every day. Am I proud of my pup? You bet. Am I proud of her breeder? I admire her committment, but I think she has too many dogs to be able to give them the love and attention yorkies need. Therefore I will not post her info here.

| Sherlyn yorkies Sheri from Sheryln Yorkies. http://www.sherlynyorkies.homestead.com/ I got my Sparks from her. Her dogs are beautiful and well mannered. I chose her because of her willingness to answer any question at length and she helped chose the dog I was looking for. She's been answering lengthy emails from me since last August! She feeds good quality kibble AND homecooking. She does only limited vaccines (only what is really needed and titers blood). she does not use chemicals that are not needed. She knows where her line goes back to and can tell you have any health problems. Her house is VERY clean. Dogs are bathed weekly. She is WONDERFUL to work with. I am thrilled with my dog and wouldn't have been able to pick him out if she hadn't of helped choose. I am thinking about getting another one that was there because we fell in love with him. suzie |

| Ok, as you know i'm in Holland ... so if there are any Dutch people that stumble over this forum, i can HIGHLY recommend the family Ross in Schijndel. If anybody wants more information and phone numbers, i'll be happy to help them! There is no website. I am VERY impressed with Chelsey's breeder, she comes from the most wonderful people i have ever met ... she is very well socialized and she papers trains all her pups before they leave her. The day we brought her home, that lady cried, i felt so bad for her. I still have contact with her to keep her updated, she loves it

| Anyone else want to recommend a breeder? Come on, I know you are lurking out there saying to yourself, "Should I?? Should I recommend my breeder"? I feel bad for the breeders that are out there right now reading this thread and wondering, "huh!, Why didn't so and so write about ME?" Boast, people! Tell us all about your wonderful breeder!

| Shelby's breeder would kill me if I posted her name here She is one of those long time YTCA members that rarely has litters so I can't recommend her. Breeds for show and standard only and Shelby was pet quality. If I were doing this again I would go to www.ytca.org and look under breeder contact and get on lists with any or all breeders in my area. Or I would beg a couple of our YT breeders to sell me a pup |

| 1. Dale Bing -- Candyland Kennel -- Guntersville, AL 2. 256-571-0291 3. We got Hobbs 12/1/05 -- we are getting another one from her in July 4. We contacted and requested pictures from dozens and dozens of breeders -- Dale had the best looking puppies of anyone we contacted -- the main thing, she had GREAT prices for the quality of puppies she was raising. We got Hobbs for $850, and he is only 3 lbs., from champion bloodline, and in GREAT health 5. Dale is just very good at raising yorkies that meet the standard and not charging outrageous prices. The puppies went to the vet several times before they went to their homes, they came with AKC papers, health guarantee, and she gave us a lot of insight on how to watch out and care for hypoglocemia. We loved her and her doggies so much that we are getting another one from her in July!!!!! WOOHOO! |

| 1. Kimberley Ellisor/ Texas 2. Has no website that I am aware of 3. I got Woodie about February 15th, of this year 4. I found Kim through someone else in northern Texas. She told me that Kim had a litter coming up and told me how to find her. I liked the situation because she had a healthy male puppy, and lived only blocks from where I was moving to. 5. When Kim and I first started communicating, we both had questions for each other about yorkies. I was still in San Diego at the time and I had my daughter here in Texas, go over to Kim's house to meet her and the puppies. After that, Kim and I made arrangements of a deposit etc, over the phone. Kim sent me weekly pictures of the puppy as he continued to grow.I asked her to change his name from Baxter to Woodie, which she did. She kept Woodie for me an extra month, til we moved here in late March. When I did pick up the puppy, Kim had a puppy package ready for me, with groomer and vet recommendations, food, and even a toy or two. Since I have had Woodie here, Kim has brought his litter mate, London, over to play a few times. Kim has brought her trimmers and scissors over and gave him a needed trim. Woodie loves chewing on the blanket Kim made for him, that has his name on it too. So, all in all, Kim has done a great job by me and I'd recommend her to anyone!

| I think everyone knows where our Toto came from ... but, on the outside chance you haven't ... here goes! Her breeder is Ava Tyree, Tyava Yorkies in Marietta, GA. Her website has the pertinent information ... it's maintained by her hubby when he has time. Her focus is totally on her Yorkies and she rarely has any that she will sell ... she raises show Yorkies. We became interested in the breed in 2002 but it wasn't until October 2003 that we got our little darlin' and brought her home. It was a very long search and it was like kissing frogs to find your prince .... well worth the wait! Ava makes her Yorkie bloodline her life work and I think that she has bred some of the most beautiful, healthy Yorkies that we have ever seen ... and a long line of champions. Toto's Dad, Wyatt, was #1 Yorkie in the country in 2004 & 2005 and recently "passed the mantle" to Tyava's Sure Shot [Chandler], her most recent champion. We just wanted a small pet and were so blessed to have found Ava and been allowed to love our Toto. We are totally committed to Toto and our lives revolve around her ... is she spoiled??? Of course, but she is without a doubt the sweetest, most precious little one we have ever seen!! Ava has always, always been there for us and truly cares about each baby she has parted with. We know we can call her anytime at all and she is always glad to answer any questions, offer advice and always thankful to catch up on the life of her little one! She truly cares about every one of her babies and we feel it is our duty to keep our word and fulfill every promise we made to her because she certainly has lived up to her good reputation!!
