It's entirely possible that your kennel is one of a few that I've overlooked. But why? Most likely because you don't really campaign your dogs in the direction that it would catch my eye. I look for everything mentioned above, but above all I look for health and I see no mention of it in regards to your breeding stock on your website, nor have I heard of you around the Yorkie community in regards to shows or parent clubs. Those are the first places someone like me would look or advise others to look.
-What standard do you breed by?
-Do you belong to a breed club or endorse them?
-What physical tests have been done on your breeding stock?
-What in your opinion qualifies them to be bred?
-At what age to you begin breeding your males and females?
-What kind of health guarantee to you offer?
-How many dogs do you own on property?
-Out of that many, how many are producing?

Those were just a few that I would ask, not in that way, but they'd come out.

hey Leslie...I never heard of you either....does that automatically make you a person without ethics/standards that I should question you? No, that does not automatically make me a person w/o ethics or standards. For all you know I could be chairman of the board for the UKC, or I could be a serial killer. The point is that I was wanting YOU to tell me more about you and your Yorkies. If you don't want to answer those questions again on this thread, then what's that mean about you? There weren't many and according to EVERYONE you take the time to dedicate yourself to the breed and answer questions. I'm not berading you, nor am I accusing you. I have some very valid questions that I- as just another potential puppy owner -would like to have answer. Even if we don't exchange payment and puppy, why clam up and not answer them? You asked me to ask here, and now you don't want to answer them. Instead, you're telling me to go sniff around for them. Why not just say that in the first place? Have I struck a nerve? I don't see how. They're good questions.

since you had no problem digging up this thread to question me, I figured you would have no problem operating 'search'. I am not clamming up, I am just busy. I don't recall saying anything about 'ammo' or that being a concern at all.

-What standard do you breed by?AKC for Yorkies, IBC for Biewer yorkies.
-Do you belong to a breed club or endorse them? I am the vice president of the BYTCA, I attend meetings and assist whenever possible at my local kennel club and donate and refer to my local rescue.

-What physical tests have been done on your breeding stock? My dogs are regularly screened with bloodwork,x-rays,and general exams for soundness including bile-acid testing through Cornell
-What in your opinion qualifies them to be bred?The evaluation of each dog is not done only by me, but also by my mentor and my vet
-At what age to you begin breeding your males and females?Females are generally bred on second heat, males at 1 year
-What kind of health guarantee to you offer?10 days full refund, no questions asked, 1year on congenital problems with cash back up the purchase price of the dog to cover related vet expenses incurred,lifetime return policy
-How many dogs do you own on property?2Labs,retired.8 yorkies,2 Biewers,plus pups, we also have a cat that thinks he's a yorkie

BYTCA-that covers the Biewers, no club for the Yorkies? It's okay if you say no. Just curious.
-You breed on their second heat cycle, at what age does that typically put your dog then for breeding?

Poor cat-good thing to stay out of the way of a Yorkie stud! You know he'd try.

OH! And do you certify your x-rays? Or are you relying on your vet's answers? Either or is fine, not knocking your vet. Just wanted to know where I could go to see the results of the x-rays. For example if you OFA'd your dogs or had their eyes CERF'd then I could go see the "certified" results.
Are pedigrees available for viewing on your web site? I don't remember.

anyone looking for a new puppy is going to read these reviews to assist in their OWN search for a puppy. These are the kinds of questions I would think would be asked to the breeder IF things went beyond just looking.....

The people who are posting & reading in this section are just sharing GOOD or Bad experiences .....
IF I were looking for a yorkie and knew no one here - I'd want to read about people's experiences... then choosing if I want to deal with a certain Breeder...(or not) where I THEN start asking the kinds of questions I see here.

I think it's great to have a Review Section...I wish more people would post in it with their experiences.

For someone who is always looking, this is how many would either put a check on their list next to a breeder or put a line through them. Filtering my friend, filtering.

I think that more breeders should offer these answers up front- especially if they have a web site- so as to save their time from people like me who are serious about Yorkies looking for that next prospect. They wouldn't be inidated w/ so many calls then and can focus more on whatever it is they'd rather be doing.

Very neccessary questions and never inappropriate timing.

I was invited to join the Delaware Valley Yorkshire Terrier Club by the president, but currently do not have the luxury of time to do so. When my teens head for college I do hope to be involved there.

As a rule second heat puts them at about 18 months.

I feel it unneccessary to certify the results of testing since there have been no problems with knees, hips or eyes in my lines. My vet is emminently qualified and refers to UPenn for any questions.

Pedigrees are available upon request and I am more than happy to share them for serious inquiries.

How does one know if they want to seriously inquire if they are wanting to show and want to know the lineage of the sire and dam of any up coming litters, or your entire breeding program for that matter?

I do see your point on Filtering but thought that's what a website was for....and I agree it may help to see the info here - but it takes ALOT of reading to go thru all the threads....

I have a feeling a Breeder could have a website FULL of information - and still have to weed thru out the serious inquiries vs the people just fishing.

A serious buyer would WANT to speak with the breeder via phone or email if they were needing more details than a website provided. At least that's what I would do.

I totally believe that.

One thing I admire about the breeders I've gotten to know via this site is that they sure do take ALOT of calls. In Stacy's case...I know she's assisted lots of people in their searches for yorkies ...and not just people interested in her own....Actually this thread will probably INCREASE her traffic lol.

Show breeders or byb's I do not know of ONE website that would freely post the information (that Stacy so kindly responded to) on their website. I can point out several show breeders/byb's that merely share a sampling for their dogs and a glimpse into their pedigrees! A website IMHO is there to show what their breeding program consists of in brevity, interested inquires should proceed to that next step establishing phone or personal contact with the hopes of developing some sort of raport and insight.

I really dont understand the interogation. In all due respect this thread was started as a breeder review from pleased puppy owners not a breeder questionnaire or inquisition! I think you could have shown more respect by emailing Stacy these questions instead of obliterating this original posters thread.
