| Seaside Yorkies, FL Hey guys, I've had Stanley for a while now but I thought it'd be smart to post about where I got Stanley from just incase there was anyone considering buying from there. When I was puppy searching, I stumbled across a website called Seaside Yorkies and she had only one puppy left, a tiny toy for $950 and that included shipping. I live in Southern California so it was really difficult for me to find one below a thousand dollars. Unfortunately, I didn't come upon YT until AFTER I got Stanley. Monique from Seaside Yorkies told me that he is a tiny toy and shouldn't exceed 5 lbs...I know that I shouldn't blame her for it but Stanley is now at a thriving 10 lbs. I love the little guy w/ all my heart though. He came to me w/ kennel cough and in a tiny crate...not as comfortable looking as they make it sound. He was healthy when i got him though and that's what I was most grateful about. I didn't find out he had kennel cough till a day later. After I received him, Monique completely cut off contact w/ me and never bothered to callt o see how he was doing. I started checking back on her website every few weeks and this is when I started to suspect that she is a Yorkie broker. She had a new litter up on the website every few weeks and advertises the words teacup, which I didn't know at the time was a bad word to use! When I e-mailed her expressing my concern about Stan's kennel cough, she e-mailed me once back and never e-mailed again to ask how he was doing. Sorry this thread is so long, I just wanted to express that I am not angry at her, mainly bc I got a pretty healthy puppy, but I just wanted others to know that she doesn't care for her puppies like I've seen other breeders on this web site do. If you guys want to check out her website, it is www.seasideyorkies.com

| I dont know where my edit button went .. Anyway, there is one other thing I forgot to mention. Stanley's ears were taped and Monique said when she was cutting the tape off, she accidentally cut off a chunk of his ear. So when he came to me, a chunk of his ear was missing . It was all dried blood took a while to heal. Heres a pic it's on his left ear..I don't know if you can tell.

| Well, I'm glad you love him for who he is to you now even though he was sold from an unreputable breeder. I actually had her sight bookmarked from a while ago as I was searching. I even contacted her via email, her prices are ridiculous. With those type of prices, if my pup wasn't what she told me, I would take her to court. Or she'd be taking me for my actions afterward. There has to be a way to report people like this for selling these sick puppies and lying to buyers. They are taking our money under false misrepresentation of what they are selling, be it pooch or product. I can't believe she nipped that puppies ear, didn't compensate you on the price, or just do something. We should start a post about how she treated you and send the link to her email so she can read it. Something needs to be done to show these breeders they can't do this to people.

| Omg!!!!!!! OMG...YOU KNOW WHAT??? Before Coco got pregnant, i had been looking for another yorkie. I live here in Miami and im like 35 minutes away from seaside yorkies. Well, i contacted a fellow yorkie talker she sha had a yorkie from seaside. She really discouraged me NOT to buy from Monique if size was important to me. I love yorkies any size, but i prefer the smaller ones....im out alot. Well, she told me the same story....She had bought a "tiny toy".... and her girl grew to 11 POUNDS!!!!! So that really turned me off....and thank god. I did go to her house to visit and see the dogs and let me tell you, ive never seen such a nasty house. The dogs run her house. litterally....so nasty She must have like 60 adult yorkies she breeds in her house, apart from the the pups she has at the time......

| Wow that is amazing that you got a 10 lb yorkie instead of what she promised you since she says "we do not guarantee size however we do feel completely sure of our estimations". Guess she better change that statement. The fact is you cant guarantee what any pup will weigh and if she is that certain, then she should refund you your money if she led you to believe it would be 3 lbs. I also like how she makes up her own standard and says the people that will tell you there are no such thing as a teacup are mistaken. Teacups are 4 lbs and under, toys are 4.5 to 6 lb and the standards are 7-9 lbs and these determinations are made after study and trial. Also I love the fact that she requires you to give your pets vitamin supplements or the contract is null and void. Too many red flags for me I think. |

It's really hard when a puppy comes to you already sick - MY girl Chanel came to me with Coccidia - it was horrible and I almost lost her I'll NEVER forget how sick she was and the emergency visit in the middle of the night. I've been accused of 'bashing' her breeder by someone for warning others about it. But in my opinion - It IS the breeders fault if a puppy is sold sick & they knowingly do this - there is no excuse.... it can happen to the best of them I know - - but good breeders make sure it doesn't happen over and over. Which is what Chanels breeder does. She now has a disclaimer on her site to cover herself....which tells me she still sells sick puppies. I 've met a few people that got puppies from her & the same thing happened to them Chanels breeder denied even knowing what coccidia is when I called her to tell her what the diagnosis was. (she claims to have been breeding over 20 YEARS ?) Denied it and hung up on me. She'd rather have let Chanel die then tell me her puppies could possibly have it. That was the worst of my experience besides how sick Chanel was. IF A BREEDER KNOWS their dogs possibly have life threatening parasites - they need to tell people up front so those dogs get treated asap before it gets so bad they almost die. I had counted on my breeder to help me with my new puppy and she wanted nothing to do with me or Chanel once she had my money. | |

| I think it is important that we warn each other when we come across breeders that do the WRONG thing, a puppy coming to you that has a chunk out of his ear is horrible.. and a crate that is way to small is terrible too! But size is hard to tell, yes we have size charts, but those are aren't always right.. I breed too and its hard to tell what size the puppy will be when full grown. I had one puppy that was big.. he weighed 3lbs at 8 weeks.. I told the owner that he would be around 9 lbs. I keep in touch with the people I sell to, and she just let me know he is 18 months old and weighs in at over 11lbs.. I don't know how this happened, but it did??? Mom was 8 lbs and dad 5.5 lbs..

And Trouble, at least you told the customer honestly how big you thought the pup was gonna be. I respect you for your honesty and the fact that you care for your babies and don't leave them to get sick like all the bad breeders that we submit reviews about.

| I just checked out that site and it says little lela (?) is CKC registered - why would an American breeder register their dogs under the Canadian kennel club?
