Each time you post lynzy you go up and up in my estimation and the fact that you just called a truce and cleared up any misunderstanding makes me like you more.
I agree with Kazzy and Gracie and lynzy and I think it was just mad for mills that got a little too preachy on Kazzy that lead to a bit of misinterpretation.

It's true there are some passionate souls out there, about their diet about their religion about their work with animals about the environment and it's great to have such passion but never presume to be 100% right, I'm the only person who is 100% right ahahahahah
and it's not right to slam the rest of us.
This forum is indeed full of many differing opinions and although I don't mind a little drama in my day, I don't want people falling out over passions and opinions.

I haven't seen anyone forcing or pressuring anyone to take someone else's cast offs and I don't think that is anyone's opinion here. Adopting from a shelter or rescue is an honorable thing to do but I'm sure anyone who works in rescue would be the first to tell you it is not for everyone. They want the dogs that do find homes to go to a good forever home otherwise they are wasting their time.
It just amazes me that someone would be so insulted by someone who works to rescue animals, both purebred and mixed. Step back and take a look here. You are all for the same thing in principle.
As for the people who buy from pet stores and puppy mills..... they learn a high priced lesson and the ones who have lost adorable little babies suffer for it for many years. If rescue and purebred breeders could get together and work united against puppy mills they would be an effective force. We are not going to stop this abuse by saying mean things about each other or the puppy mills.

you are exactly right everyone is entitled to their opinion so that is why I could not believe someone was being asked to reconsider their opinion, and especially by someone that has strong opinions of their own.

DBlain anyone can disect a statement and make it to *sound* other than what its context was meant to be...The intro to my statement was the crux of my statement, as I have now explained several times. There is nothing wrong with being opinionated and I have found those that are the most opinionated speak with the most truth and dont mealy mousing around an issue.
with that though I did agree with Kassy that no one should be made to feel bad because they dont rescue. Its a individual cholce and a individual decision

There's no point or progress in thoae here fighting amongst themselves especially when those slightly bickering are the sort offering wonderful forever homes for thw furkids they adopted either via rescue or paid in full.

It's not an implication, it's a fact. Good breeder/bad breeder/backyard breeder - for every dog bred and sold, one is killed in a shelter. You may not like how it sounds, but it's a fact.

Thank you for sharing your facts and your views on this matter, YT is such a wonderful place for allowing us to do so. Thank you for respecting everyone elses views as well, even if they are not your own.

The fact is, everyone has been educated on both sides now, gratefully we are able to consider the information and apply it whichever way we feel!!!

well that isn't our fault is it, so go get the legislature changed to prevent puppy mills and backyard breeders jailed and stopped, you should require some kind of livestock licence with strict federal and breed guidelines.
Don't be pointing scrawny fingers at the people on here, if it wasn't for good breeders we wouldn't have awesome information for health and diet maintenance and general care for our breed specific dogs who get fixed to prevent unwanted pregnancy which fill rescues and shelters with unwanted dogs.
You wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for people and their discarding of their pets.

We were going to rescue an adult dog this time but ended up buying a puppy. We were looking for a particular breed and any of the rescues we went to gave us nothing but hassles and wouldn't work with us because we didn't have a fenced yard.

After much frustration, we bought a puppy. Some of these rescues would rather keep a dog in foster care FOREVER than break a "rule" like no adoption for a under 10 pound dog if you don't have a fenced yard.
