I once again have learned yet another question to be ask to a reputable breeder. IMO standing behind all of the puppies that are sold should be of the utmost importance. It speaks VOLUMES for the breeding ethics of both member involved with the issue. Renee thank you for showing us what responsible breeders do to keep their breeding program first rate.

This thread should really be closed now...it's just getting more and more cruel. Both (OP and Breeder) have stated their sides...it should be over.

Making amends with money, does not excuse dishonesty, which is the purpose of this review.

That may be an observation, but it was made in a cruel way....to harm someone further and there was no need for it. I just can't believe how so many of you keep on kicking a person when they are down.

The breeder being reviewed is not the victim, the OP poster is and of course the dog that she rehomed. All of this was of the breeder's own doing, had she been honest, this thread would be a moot point.

The OP intention was focused on honesty, not money....strictly meant as educational to inform others on how to do their research.

Other's that have posted on this thread have also posted for educational purposes.

Let me add the person that is down, is the OP, having to spay a girl that was in her home for a full year and rehoming her because of dishonesty.

JMO, but Jazzy was purchased as an addition to Renee's breeding program. Renee believed this dog to be an asset to her program, which turned out to be false. Renee then spayed & re homed Jazzy at her expense, did not even get the money out of Jazzy that she had originally paid. Although the money is not the issue here, Renee is out the money and Jazzy, so in my opinion, Renee is the one down!

I don't either and has sold over 25 pups on YT alone. So, I don't understand the bankrupt.

Everyone is wise to how some operate when selling puppies to get around the 10 week rule.

My girl is expecting; litter is here; post pics in the nursery. In this case make mention in this post.

She really was and still is as you know....Really a shame it had to happen to such a wonderful person such as Renee.

Anyone who knows her at all, would know she is not bashing anyone here, just educating others as to ones breeding ethics, as any other ethical breeder would do.:)

Dee did state in post #23 she had to use the money to buy groceries & etc....not sure why an ethical breeder would have to use her breeding fund to live day to day, most know that is not their money till at least the year guarantee is up, even then, an ethical breeder uses the money for their program, not day to day life.

And again I ask, where are these people? If there are 25 plus puppies on YorkieTalk that came from this same person in the past few years, where are they? Must not have anything good to say. I know if I was happy with a dog I had purchased and a negative review was posted on that dog\'s breeder, I would at least step up and say that my experience was a good one. It is just strange to me. I could dig all day, although it is quite easy since everything about this person\'s breeding program is out on the table all over this forum. Presumably as a good way to sell her pups here. Another thing I have noticed is that despite having no money, not only has this person admitted to her sire producing over 40 puppies, but has bred females who were either too young or too old. Of course, that is again another matter of opinion, but I have never seen anyone promote breeding of a 10 month old female, or a 6 year old female who should have been a pet only by that age. As for my proof, it sure doesn\'t take a genius to look at the dates of posts and do the math based on pedigrees and births of litters. It is all laid on the table for us to see. My biggest question is, how in the world has this person managed to slip through the cracks of this forum for so long? There is an awfully long list of reasons why she should be listed as \'unreputable\' based on the criteria given in the Breeders section of this forum. I for one am glad that the OP posted this thread. I think it has been a nice wake up call for many here. Remember that for every person that posts, there are 4 more who read and don\'t say anything. My acquaintance who purchased the dog from this breeder has pondered the idea of posting, but is afraid of any repercussions. I can\'t say that I blame her, but just know OP that you are not the only person who has had issues with this person and her lack of integrity.

Just thought it was worth mentioning that if there have been 40 dogs over say the last 4 years (I've been here over 3 years and I know Dee was here before me) and lets assume $1500/pup would equal out to about $15,000 per year now subtract vet fees, whelping supplies, dog food etc. Well, can we all agree that it is hardly a rich man's wage? And if she has sold over 25 dogs on here and none of them are defending her, isn't is also true that if she were doing such a bad job, wouldn't there be more people willing to post their bad experiences? Maybe most people are silent as they are afraid they will be attacked themselves. Personally I don't know Dee, never spoken to her and I don't think I've even ever PM'd her. I just think there are always 2 sides to every story and Dee did offer to refund her, I'm not sure what else anyone expects? Is it not possible that she just made a mistake? Aren't we all human? Or has no one else here ever made any mistakes.....

My only answer to your question that I highlighted. Until just recently, YT members felt that if one was a member here, one protected another member no matter what and you still see some of that going on, but less and less. However, as members have become more educated on ethics, integrity, responsible breeding they are now stepping up to the plate.

Some call it bashing, other's understand the importance using the forum for education as well as a place to meet people and share their experiences with their dogs.

Hardly a rich man's salary. But, if one is breeding it isn't about supplementing ones salary, every penny should be going back into the dogs.

No, need to duck. But, think of it another way, the possibility exists that other's haven't stepped up to the plate, because they were sold breeding pups from this very same breeding (and the breeder validated using this sire several times). They may have bred those dogs and stepping up to the plate may cause them issues with their breeding programs.

But, as Blueskies have surfaced; breeding 10 month females...using a sire to that produced 40 dogs.......in 4 years that's alot of dogs, not to mention litters produced by other sires. I've been breeding a lot longer than this breeder and haven't produced no where near 40 dogs. It took my mentor over 40 years to produce a 100 Champions....40 is 60 shy in just 4 or 5 years.

Yes, we are all human. We as breeders are responsible for puppies we produce. When placing a puppy in another breeders program that breeder needs to be aware of any faults and pass the info on. Dee never informed me of any prior open fonts in her line. And she had no intention of telling me at all until I told her I knew about them.

agreed, personally I don't think you can really make money breeding dogs (well maybe puppy mills) but certainly not with the 40 dogs in 4 years but I want to clarify that I don't know that number is correct, I'm just throwing certain assumptions out there. I also have never seen Dee say breeding a 10month old dog is good, but then I haven't really checked either. Has she said so? If so, I'm very disappointed. And since I'm an accountant by trade, if your mentor produced 100 champions in 40 years, I'm assuming she must have produced a whole lot more than 100 dogs to get those champions? Here I go with my assuming again... lets say most litters have 4 dogs just to make the math easy. I don't really know myself but most of the show breeders say they "hope" to have one good dog to show from the litter and lets assume she did and also assume she also finished each of those, based on that, would it not mean that your mentor has produced something in the neighborhood of 400 dogs total to get those 100 champions? Now 400 dogs in 40 years totals 10 dogs per year. If Dee has produced 40 dogs in 4 years, isn't that also 10 dogs per year? Again, lots of assumptions on my part but just playing devils advocate....

Renee rehomed Jazzy to me. I made a decision to stay off this thread until now. I feel very blessed to have this little girl, but I got her under terrible circumstances. Not only did Renee lose Jazzy (and money) but she brought her to me from Nebraska!!! This was a 12 hour drive for her and she believed she was doing the right thing bringing her to me. We have since become great friends and we talk about "what might have been" with Jazzy because she is gorgeous. I know Renee's heart and she did this to educate others and to bring light to this unfortunate circumstance. I don't believe for one minute that Dee is a bad person, she made a bad decision that I hope she has learned a lesson from.

Renee was heart broken the day she came to my house and left Jazzy to go back home. She had such dreams for this little girl, she still misses her. Luckily, we have skype and she can see her whenever she wants. AND we are meeting in August and she will get to spend time with her for 3 days! :)

The 40 dogs is just what Dee stated Ceeby produced, not sure of Ceeby's age? So I am sure Dee has produced more than just the pups Ceeby has sired! As for breeding a 10 month old, Dee DID NOT say that, it has been made public!;)
