| Caution - Bad Breeder in Stroud, OK - Leslee Mitchell - Dogs - Lycos Classifieds what I found online. If the pup has LP, sorry, but this is genetical problem. Probably, she doesn't test her dogs before breeding... So what is so excellent? ....and they have all right to complain. I would too. Good for them. It is not a slander. They just tell the truth, but not everyone likes it. People like they try to do best to stop those back yard breeders. Another bad sign - she breeds A FEW different breeds. At least, back yard breeder, or even puppy mill. We ALL know, that good breeder (and especially excellent) will never do that. I don't know her, and honestly, don't want to involve in this problem, but there are some facts that show her in BAD way. So, I trust more them, not you. | Well I guess she ran out of air since the buyer posted her evidences. I believe everyone has the right to state what they feel in a professional manner even if they live in a "marble castle". I would not buy a puppy from this breeder even if this is just one puppy she had problems with. The e-mail is enough for anyone to know to stay away. |

| sounds funny to me Quote:
This all sounds like a made up deal for one to come on and complain and then another to come on and sing the praises of this person. Yes, if this breeder is so marvelous and reputable, something like this won't bother her much. It all sounds like it's pretty orchestrated and planned.

I don't understand where you keep coming up with a puppy contract. There was never any contract signed or any policy stated before purchasing the puppy. If Leslee had you sign a puppy agreement it is because of what she is going through without having us sign one.

| everyone can say excellent blah-blah-blah. just words.....no one cares..... description of excellent breeder: - works only with one breed (max 2, but usually not) - usually, show breeder who try to improve breed standard. Visit dog shows, etc. - always test dogs before breeding and never breeds dogs with genetical desease - parents always welcome to shown to potential owners - don't have litters on regular basic (like a few litters once and over and over again) - prefers do not ship and find local buyers - contract gives you life time guarantee for genetical desease - in a case of sick puppies will return money. NOW. BYB aka PM will never give you money back because then they will lose everything. dogs for them just TOOLS for making money. Deseases, you mentioned, are TYPICAL for puppy mill dogs. So .... SIMPLE question. What EXACTLY SO EXCELLENT about her? |

| my opinion I am new here so forgive me for just jumping in here, but the woman complaining has documentation to back yup her claim. Would be very open to seeing some documentation that might defend your side as well. Seems like it might even out the debate a little bit. Please feel free to have your friend scan the documents that show where this dog was healthy. |

| Update - four months later I thought this story would not be complete unless I posted an update. I took the puppy to the vet today to have a basic health exam and to have the vet look at some of her baby teeth that had not fallen out. We were informed that the grade 1 Patellar Luxation is now a grade 3, which basically means it is not yet necessary for her to have surgery but would be very beneficial. The increase in the grade level was to be expected as she grew and that is the very reason why we wanted to bring her back for a refund. We were informed the less complicating surgery that would not be a guarantee would be $1500 per knee, I was afraid to ask the price of the more invasive surgery. On top of that, we were trying to find a new home for this puppy because it just got too hard for our grandma to take care of her with this cold weather coming. At this point, we hope to find a good home for her and not worry about trying to regain any of the money we invested in this puppy. |
