Update - four months later I thought this story would not be complete unless I posted an update. I took the puppy to the vet today to have a basic health exam and to have the vet look at some of her baby teeth that had not fallen out. We were informed that the grade 1 Patellar Luxation is now a grade 3, which basically means it is not yet necessary for her to have surgery but would be very beneficial. The increase in the grade level was to be expected as she grew and that is the very reason why we wanted to bring her back for a refund. We were informed the less complicating surgery that would not be a guarantee would be $1500 per knee, I was afraid to ask the price of the more invasive surgery. On top of that, we were trying to find a new home for this puppy because it just got too hard for our grandma to take care of her with this cold weather coming. At this point, we hope to find a good home for her and not worry about trying to regain any of the money we invested in this puppy. |
