| Weight at birth???? Tinkerbell had 3 boys Aug. 19th, and they weighted in at 6oz, 4oz, 3oz......The biggest one 6oz, is now the one who weights less the 4oz, is now the biggest and well the runt is still small, is this normal?? I was just curios, Tinkerbell is 5.1lbs and Albert the father is 3lbs.

| I don't know if it is normal but that is what happened to our puppies. DC had 4 puppies on Aug 28. The largest at birth is now the smallest in weight and stature and the smallest at birth is now next to the biggest in weight and stature. Although I didn't have an answer to your question, I thought I would share our similar situation. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Interesting....I'll have to remember that as our puppies grow. At about 2 weeks, the 2 6oz (@ birth) puppies are still bigger than the other 2, which were 5oz at birth, but I'll be watching for those kinds of changes. Hmmmmm.

| Question, do you put something on each pup to tell which is which? I went and got some thin ribbon and was thinking of putting a different color on ech pup and putting that color down on my paper, along with weight and time of birth, all that. Good idea or no? I know Bella is having at least 3 pups. maybe 4.

| I see,, when they were first born I honestly thought the biggest was going to be that, the biggest, but as weeks went on, it was just the opposite

| weight at birth I've been told that birth weight has nothing to do with adult size.....or the size each pup will be the largest often ends up being the smallest ...this was true with my daughters first litter....... |

| My little Jackson was 5 oz. when he was born and was the smallest in the litter of 3. Before long, he was the largest and now (I think) he is the smallest again (only by a couple ounces). It's amazing how they can change so fast! Just goes to show that each dog grows and gains differently.
