![]() I tried emailing her awhile back and didn't get a response. I would like to believe that she is a good breeder but I just don't know. Ellie's AKC paperwork went through just fine and I don't remember her being dirty. She was only 7 3/4 - 8 weeks old when I got her though. We went to a relative of hers house to get Ellie, so that part wasn't really suspicious to me.

I wish you could locate a breeder by the registration number of your pup. Then maybe you could locate the breeder if you wanted too down the line. I don't think the laws have changed but a home breeder can have up to 6-8 dogs in their home without having to get a license. I might be alittle high on the number of dogs allowed in the home. I think I remember the home has only one male and the rest are your dams? and or a couple of them can be personal pets and not breeding stock. What if your animal dies ? and the breeder was a small breeder if they aren't registered you can't find them, unless you stayed in contact with them.

| I am sorry I hope noone is upset I let her know about this topic. I bought a yorkie from Brenda two weeks ago and my yorkie got a limp today, I brought her in the vet and he suspects that it is luxating petella. This as most know is a genetic defect. My poor puppy. The surgery is very expensive around 2,000$ here where I live. Now I have the choice of paying for the surgery or giving the dog back? How do you give back a dog you fall in love with now? I was told she was healthy and now I am being told that she may have had this since she was born. We have to get xrays done now that is almost 200$ here, I just spent 100$ on a visit and pain medication. We are a young couple who just had our pup die last month, I can't take this or afford it. I started to search online and put Brendas name in on yahoo and this topic came up, I called her and told her that I have found others who did not have a good experience with her either. Sorry to anyone who is upset, I am very hurt and upset and I just want answers. |

| Ellie has luxating patella also but it is very, very mild and she jumps ALL THE TIME, so that may not have anything to do with breeding in our case. Brenda, have all of your adult Yorkies been bile acid tested and your lines cleared of liver disease for the last 10 generations? We don't know why Ellie's bile acids are up but they are just too high. We are trying to figure out if it is a congenital Yorkie liver issue or something unrelated. I don't know why Ellie was sold so young and why she is so off standard. The Missouri/Michigan thing along with them being sold so young does get confusing/concerning but that doesn't mean there is a problem with it. Like I said before, I don't know but why do you sell your Yorkies so young? In the end it doesn't make any difference anyway because Ellie is Ellie is Ellie and I am so happy to have her.

| First off I told the lady in canada I would refund her money but she wants to keep Stormy. I had no idea she had something wrong with her leg's. I had Stormy for over a year and she never had any problems or a limp. We love that little dog and wanted to find her a good home. We were going to breed her to my male but I considered her to small at 5 pounds some people don't but I do. As for the lady that has ellie I had 2 yorkies when you bought your dog. I had her mother her whole life she was almost 16 when I lost her to old age. I am not a broker or a kennel my puppies have been raised in my home and taken very good care of I am sure you were told when you bought her I always sell my puppies in michigan I don't want them to end up in kennels or with brokers. What is so confusing /concerning about that? I love my puppies and wanted to be sure they were all getting good homes. I never hid the fact of where I live or where the puppies came from. Why have you never tried to contact me personally? My name and address are on her paperwork I have never recieved any letters from you. You have seen my dachshund adds why didn't you say something to me? When was this dog diagnosed with this disease she must be at least 9 years old. Where are all of these people who have had bad experiences with me? All I see is one lady who has an older dog with a liver problem. Don't you people realize that dog lovers live in every state just because missouri has a bad reputation doesn't mean everyone who lives there are bad people. Why Am I responding? I was just made aware of any problems at all today. You journy 826 ought to mind your own business. The lady from canada told me about this site. I don't know how to personally respond to the lady with ellie or I would have done so. Why didn't she contact me would be the better question. My vet has never recomended a bile acid test on any of my dogs and to my knowlege none of my puppies but yours has had liver disease. If you don't even know if it's a congenital disease why are me and my dogs being blamed? What is so off standard about your dog anyway? I learned a long time ago not to sell my yorkies so young, at the time I didn't realize there would be any problems since then I have learned otherwise. What were the standards for selling puppies 10 years ago anyway? You all act like this all happend yesterday it was at least 9 years ago alot of things have changed since then and so have I. I can't believe I have to defend myself to people who don't know me or my dog's. I am very happy to know that ellie has had a very good home and a wonderful life just what I hope for all of my puppies. Brenda |

| okay brenda, giving you back the dog is one thing but what is going to happen with her? if she needs the surgery are you going to pay for it or let her suffer? don't you think shes been through enough having to get a new home and so soon after be given back? dogs have feelings and emotions also, wouldn't it be very depressing for her? what about right after I got her from you and we ran into that problem and I said I'd have to give her back to you, you said you wouldn't take her back you told me to sell her because you can't come and get her, now all of a sudden you will take her back? also I am scared to give her back, I'm not saying it was you personally but SOMEONE abused her. The vet said a dog doesn't act the way she is towards people for no reason, he said thats a sign that a dog was probably abused. Why is she so afraid of men. I am just very hurt and lost. This is so stressful for me, all I wanted was to find a new dog to love and help me through the recent death of my other puppy. My heart was just broken last month and now to hear this is so much more pain, I love stormy so much already, I bring her with me everywhere but work. I am not calling you a bad person or anything brenda but if this is what it is you must of known. a luxating patella just doesn't show up at 1.5 yrs without ever happening before, at least the vet told me this. lets pray that it is a sprain and not that. i am praying for her, praying it isn't worse. i do think as a responisble breeder you must screen for everything, these dogs go to families, that have children and love these little dogs with all their hearts. noone asks for a sick animal, as a breeder you must be more cautious. do you even give any health guarentee? also who do you get these puppies from if you have so many different types, if you are not personally breeding them then people need to know who did and what was wrong with tese parents. |

I have been thru LP surgery and unfortunately it is expensive anywhere you go There are 4 Grades and IMO Grade 3 and 4 should have surgery to stop the luxation. Ellie May has actually done some research and it seems that Cosequin is a great supplement to give in situations like this, they have actually case studies and have some proof that it does help. So you should look into starting her on the supplement daily. I hope everything works out. I too often think about my Yorkies and 'if' it wasn't me who got them, I wonder 'if' someone else would have given them the proper care too, or not (so sad)

| thanks very much for the nice response, I am going to look into getting her some type of vitamins. I do care about Stormy very much. I have bought her the best food I could find at the pet store for yorkies, dental bones, anything to keep her healthy and happy. Like I said, I am a young mom, I don't have alot of money, things are on the rocks right now and I also suffer from anxiety. Having a dog helps me out alot, it makes me feel so much better to know you have that little furbaby that loves you and is always there to give you kisses. After my shihtzu passed I was so devastated for weeks, I'm still not over it, I miss him so much. He died suddenly at 10 wks old, it was very tramatizing. I was really looking to find a healthy dog, thats why I opt to get Stormy, she was a little older. I pray so much now that this is not luxating patella because I don't know what I will do. I shared my story with brenda and hoped that she understood my concerns about getting a healthy dog. I hope I was not taken advantage of. I am from Canada so I have never heard of puppy lemon laws. what are they? |

Cosequin is really ideal for this situation. Do a google search and you'll find lots of sites that carry it, or you can get it from your Vet. Puppy Lemon Laws: Each state has laws about this and what the breeder and buyers rights are and what they are entitled, etc....So you will have to look into that ~ I am sure you can find some answers online, just search....
