Anyone heard of Brenda Snelling? Has anyone heard of this breeder? I got Ellie from her and it looks like she has a liver problem. Ellie is also way off standard. It doesn't look like she breeds Yorkies anymore though. |
I've never heard of her, but I'm truly sad you're going through this. Maybe that's why she's not selling anymore. |
Actually I saw that she was selling mini daschunds. Now I guess she is out of business entirely. It is not so much the liver problem (because it could be worse...it probably isn't severe), it is the cost of tests and treatment. |
Bump. I thought I'd try and ask one more time. I highly doubt anyone has heard of her since she didn't have many litters to my knowledge. |
breeder Where is she located? |
That is kind of difficult to answer. I don't know. I got Ellie in Lake Orion, Michigan. Supposedly that is the breeder's parent's or breeder's husband's parent's house. She lives in Gravoid Mills, Missouri. I guess she flew the pups to Michigan to sell them. They were advertised in a Michigan newspaper. I hope she flew them to Michigan to sell them and it's not something worse (like puppy mill but I really don't think it's a mill). I am just wondering because I would be interested to know if someone got a dog from her that has "problems". Oh well, I love Ellie anyway.;) |
breeder Did you try the USDA breeder web site...they list all USDA breeders by state...she might be one. |
I did a google search and her name is in the petshop puppies database. If you fill out their form, you can get a free report on Ellie's origin. http://www.petshoppuppies.org/index.htm Since Ellie came from Missouri, the state with the highest number of puppy mills, I'm guessing she came from one of those. The woman you bought her from was just acting as a broker. Unfortunately, it happens all the time. |
You are saying that you think Ellie came from a mill?:( The thought has crossed my mind (especially since the breeder is from Missouri). That makes me mad. Thank you both so much. I try googling her name and nothing comes up anymore. I will go to the links and see what I can find. |
I don't see her on the USDA list for 2006 or 2001 (when I got Ellie). There is someone on there with her last name in Missouri though.:( I don\'t think I can do the petshoppuppy one since I didn\'t get her from a pet store and that is required information. |
There is a Snelling. It could be a family member since it sounds like they do business together. It\'s just a guess, of course, but Missouri is the puppymill mecca. They sell their puppies to brokers from all over the country. I live Raleigh, North Carolina and there is a grooming salon here that sells puppies out of the backroom. She claims to have "a friend" in Missouri she gets her puppies from. I forgot you have to have gotten your puppy from a pet store to have them do a search. Sorry. You may never know where she came from, but it really doesn\'t matter in the long run. She\'s your baby!   |
I know it really doesn\'t matter where she came from now but you know how curious I am? I have to know now. I am trying to connect the breeder to the puppy miller in Missouri. I know the breeder isn\'t a broker since Ellie\'s mom has the breeders last name in her name. Since the breeder would\'ve named the mom she must be a breeder. I will figure this out.:p |
breeder Red flags should go up when you see an ad in the paper and the person does not live in the area where the ad was placed..something to hide maybe by going elsewhere to sell the puppies. pooh\'s mum |
Yeah, I know that now. I had no idea how to pick out a puppy then. She actually does have family in Michigan, so I don\'t know. She could be perfectly fine with off standard dogs. Who knows. I\'m somehow doubting that though. |
I bought a pomeranian from Brenda Snelling In MO. she met me somewhere which gave me a suspison about her. The puppy was dirty and she promised she would mail me the papers and she neve did now i cant get ahold of her. |
