| Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Oh, poor baby! He does look tiny but don't give up. If he won't take what you are offering him by hand, have you considered tube feeding him? Don't know exactly how to do it, but have read about it as an option for pups that won't (or can't) nurse on their own. Good Luck; YT prayers being sent your way!

I've been using a dropper and I might try tube feeding, although I've never done it before. I just don't think he's gonna make it, you know how you just have that feeling? I'm really trying to help him, I know I am emotional right now so everything is escalated. He's wrapped in a towel and actually in my bra right now(I'm not that well endowed so there's room.) It must be helping because he's not crying. | |

| I think I'm going to stick with a few drops every hour for now. I gave him a tiny bit of nutrical but he's still lethargic acting. Thank you all so much, you have no idea how much your support means to me. I wish I could just get it together and stop crying. |

| I am so frustrated, because I have not been able to get online till now, because of computer problems. How is your little one doing? I am so sorry that you had such a difficult time last night and I am sure that you are doing your very best for him. That is really all anyone can do. I will keep you in my prayers. |

| Thankyou, I feel like he really needs all the prayers he can get. Tried putting him back in with his maltese mom and he just lays there getting cold. She won't snuggle him. meanwhile her little girls tummy looks huge. She's been a mom before and a good one so I can't see her not popping and peeing her. She won't let me get near her. I put the little boy on the yorkie mom and he latched on and suckled for a few minutes, I'm concerned that he's not getting any colostrum from his mom. I can't leave him with the yorkie because of the four yorkie puppies that are way bigger than him. Any suggestions on where he will sleep tonight? I have a heating pad but it turns off after like 20 min. Also how often do you think I should have him nurse on the yorkie...every hour? |

| He's down to 1 7/8 oz. We're working on keeping him hydrated and warm. We found a heating pad without automatic shut off. The baby is sucking out of the eyedropper so that's encouraging. Again thank you all for your prayers and kindness. |

| He is very tiny and oooh so cute. Has he been eating yet? I would put him on momma any chance I could get, even a little at a time would help. You can buy formula with colostrum in it also. I cannot use an eye dropper,I will tube or use a bottle and he is not strong enough for a bottle it seems. When I used an eye dropper and they sucked it out it always came out their nose, not a good thing. Has he been given any benebac? I give to all my new babies. If you can get him going well I am sure momma will accept him back just fine. Keep trying and get him on mom as often as you can, besides your other feedings with him. I do hope that he has made it through the night. |

| Well the little guy has made it through the night and is eating on the yorkie mom every hour and a half along with the supplements. I was able to get the real mom to allow him to nurse for a couple minutes last night. I'm going to weigh him to make sure he is gaining today. He is so tiny and doesn't seem to have a very strong suck reflex yet. I'm doing all I can do to keep him alive. Hoping for him to gain some strength so I can put him back with mom. She seems to think that if the pup can't crawl up to the nipple then she doesn't want him. pretty strange for her, she's been such a good mom before. You're prayers really do work! |
