| The only time I gave a puppy was to my brother who had a heart transplant . Other than this time , I'll never let a puppy go for free or discount to other family members . |

| I don't have this problem because I have flat out told my parents (love them to death) that their lifestyle is not apporpriate for a small dog. Tried to let them have one ONCE. They had him all of two days and when I called to see how he was doing and got no answer I panicked...drove to their house because I had a bad feeling...found the little one hooked to their front porch on his leash in the rain and they weren't home. I took him home with me and tried calling and calling and got no answer. Finally the last time I called left a message saying Look, I took the puppy back, call me if you want to know why since you aren't returning my calls!!! My mom picked up and was hysterical. Here she was upset because she thought they were going to have to tell me someone stole him. I told them I had made it plain that this was NOT an outside dog and that I found it very irresponsible to leave such a small dog outside PERIOD. End of story. They don't ask us for them now. Now if my brother was into small dogs, I would consider allowing him to get one at a resonable price, but not free. But he is into big dogs so that isn't an issue either.

| I'm not a breeder at all but this still happens to me .... I got my first yorkie 2yrs ago, a boy, I told everyone the next one will be a girl,so I could have one of each...the very first words out of the majority of the peoples mouths was, "Oh, you can breed them & give me one!!"... I was thinking, wth are you on....the second one turned out to be a boy again, my choosing, I explained that I still plan on getting a girl within the year & it started all over again with the expectations.... the first boy is fixed but I haven't fixed the second boy yet, but plan to in a few months, then they can shut the heck up...I wouldn't sell or give any pups to most of the people I know anyway.... .

| i agree My Tea' just had six puppies and the first thing the step kids asked (mind you they live in Phoenix, Arizona and I live near Rochester, NY) was, can we give one to Aria..well, she is my step grandchild, but not even two years old!! and her mom is expecting again in December...lordy.. I felt (just for a milli-second) like the wicked stepmom. But, guess what, I am also mom with Tea' to her precious little ones who would surely, although unintentionally get played with like toys! All is takes is one whoops, and poor yorkie baby is hurt or god forbid killed. So, I don't care if it hurts their feelings (they will get over it).. I'll buy my grandchildren stuffed animals to play with until they are much, much older. Debbie Tea' +6 |

| I have placed 2 pups without receiving money. One to my mother, I believe that she paid for the pup by raising me and the Second to my best friend Carol that at the age of 41 was diagnosed with Breast Ca with mets to the bone. I told her that I was not giving him to her, her price was to face and conquer her disease. I placed the dog with her after she finished her treatments, about a 1 1/2 ago. She has recently been diagnosed with Lymphoma and is in treatment again and Einstien has been a great comfort to her. |

There is a breeder of France who raises wonderful yorkies with multiple championships. A husband and wife came to her for a yorkie (she had nothing at that time), the wife was battleing cancer at the time. Jackie's little pet yorkie and the love of Jackie's, followed the woman all afternoon (as they stayed and had lunch with Jackie) and would not leave the woman's side. If was if the lil yorkie knew something wasn't right or she was trying to offer comfort. As the couple was leaving Jackie picked up the little yorkie and handed to the woman and "gave" it to her. You can imagine how difficult this was for Jackie, not really knowing the people, but understanding the need for comforting this woman. A year later the couple came back to visit. Of course the little yorkie came with them. Guess what, the woman was cancer free.....the little yorkie just so happy to see Jackie, but you could see that she was happy in her new life, with her new family

| Those are such heartwarming stories to hear. They both brought tears to my eyes and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. |

| I love reading those stories. I know my babies keep my healthy and on my toes. I also gave my mother a puppy, in fact the very first puppy that we had from Harley and Davie. Davie only had one puppy her first litter, and the whole family just fell in love with him. We kept him here until he was 5 months old and I knew that Mom could handle him. "Sonny", yes we named Harley & Davie's puppy Sonny (HarleyDavieSon), is such a joy and gives Mom so much to live for. She can bath, feed, and has even taught him to ring a bell that hangs on her back door when he needs to go outside. (It is too funny) Sonny came back "home" when Mom went into the hospital, but was so happy to get back with Mom when she got home. Mom uses a walker, and we have a picture of my Mom comming out of her room, Sonny waiting at the door like he leads her out to the kitchen. They are just too cute together.

| my husband is not allowed to talk to anyone about my babies. he always tells them they can have them for 300.00. if it is someone i know very well, then that is ok but he tells people i don't even know. urrrrr. so he has been warned. he has told his brother they can have one for free with the next litter which is fine with me since i love his brother to death but my husband has 9 brothers and sisters. once they get wind of this, all he## is going to break loose.

| I was reading old posts since I am new to this site. This thread is making me laugh. I just had my Lucy bred 3 weeks ago, and I am getting bombarded by people wanting free or deeply discounted yorkies. Kinda threw me into shock! My dad even expressed interest in a deep discount, and I really dont remember him being a "dog" kind of person. Parents of my teenager's friends, relative, my friends, business associates. My parents I would probably give one to, the rest....I dont think so! Makes me want to start eyeballing some of their possessions and asking for something they have..............free of course............. |

| They would get a pup for me. My contract has very stringent guidelines as to how the pup is to be housed. In the garage is addressed.
