| Male's first time. Need help Okay, my neighbor has a male yorkie that he is studding to a female and I will assure you all I have made sure that i have helped him alot before he dicided to stud his yorkie makeing sure he has all the possitvie things we all look for in the breed. His male (zeke) comes for a line of champians and the female that is breeding with him is a daughter of a best in show winner. Now thats out of the way, My neighbor came to me seeking advice and while I couldn't give it to him I told him I would get on my favorite website in the world and ask on here!!! The lady just brought the female over his house as she is now in a standing heat. And Zeke is trying just seems to be wearing himself out trying to get it in the right spot, if you all know what I mean. He is 2 years old and never has bred before, so what can we do to help him and please dont be affaid to use those nasty words lol. I tryed to help him a little but he seems to loose interest when I am helping. All advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | My little guy was like that at first but now he's an old pro I found when I interferred it would distract him so that didn't help with me either. I found that if they were on carpet, he had better traction and that helped for him. If he's shorter than her, maybe rolling a carpet up to boost him up. Actually for me, nature just took its course and he finally figured it out. Tell your friend to make sure his male doesn't wear himself out and good luck to them. |

| Second that on the carpet for friction. Mine use to become distracted when I tried to help at first but hey, they ain't going to have a litter out of her ear. So I kept my helping to a minimum of moving him to the rear. Now, he waits for me to take them out. Then water, then a treat. My male was shorter and I used a folded towel for him. When she's ready, she'll kind of back into him, hopefully. |

| Definately had the same problem BUT, While I had someone holding the female, I got him proped up on a phone book/blanket or whatever was closest then I reached underneath the female...(not for faint of heart)...then I lined him up using my finger and while in motion to took my thumb and made sure it found it's home and stayed there...trying to be pg13 about this. Sometimes I miss and thats that for right then. My dog would get distracted only if I physically moved him, as long as he got the right end we were golden. It's a serious matter of patience. keep trying, he will eventually figure it out. Tino ended not minding me helping him once he had his first tie with the female~ they definately get the idea And speaking of~ Tino is now a daddy of 6 puppies! On his and the females first time!!!

| Okay just wanted to update here. His male finnaly go tied with her, about 3 times now but they only stay tied for a minute, as soon as he goes to turn arouns to be,.........well as my niece would say "butt to butt" it comes back out. Kinda like he is to little in that department and it doesn't swell up enough. what is there to do about that? Try to hold them together as long as possable was my only thought.......oh and the owner of the male and the owner of ther female told me they are giving my a puppy for all my hard work on this....lol yey.

| That's great. He may have had an outside tie. When he's thrusting, you could gently push his bottom to help him get in more. When studs are doing the fast thrusting, they don't really care if you bother them. They can also still conceive with an outside tie, holding them together is a good idea. | Yes, there are litters on YT that bare witness. As long as there is penetration and ejaculation. It's called an outside tie if the bulbus glandis (the swollen part at the base of the penis) is outside of her. With a true tie, this part is inside. At the same time, her muscles are contracting to establish this tie (keep him in). |
