| ![]() Thank you all for the information in this thread...I have never even thought about this issue. I have people come over, into my house all the time. The new parents, the kids, the neighbors, their sister in law...actually, some times it gets a bit much. I usually let them pick out the dog at 8 - 9 weeks but I always hold until 12 weeks. Of course the new "parents" want bi-weekly visits until their new baby comes home..it does get to be a circus here sometimes. I think I will start to institute a little tighter protocal. I've always thought the more loving the new babies get before they leave here the better, but I never thought that they could be getting much more than hugs and kisses like germs and bugs... ![]() ![]() -Diana ![]() |

| ![]() I guess I would never buy a USDA puppy because i would not want a puppy that was not around and handled by people from the beginning. I just think they make much better pets. Just my opinion. |

I was just wondering if your friends dogs are in the house in a separate room with a Dutch door or in a kennel. I can totally understand the germ thing.

| ![]() Her dogs are in her large extended family/kitchen area...a dutch door separates them from the living room and hall entry...people can look at the adults, then sit in the living room with the puppy...she has laminate floors like I do... |

That sounds like a great plan. I like the dutch door idea.
