Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | ![]() so I am guessing everyone would oppose to me breeding my Tootsie...due to her coloring...but imo I disagree..because I am looking to offset her color with a black/tan male in hopes of getting it closer to standards.

A correct scissor and or level bite is what is written in the standard. Over shot or under shot is considered a flaw. However, judges are very familiar with the standard, and will not put up a dog with a bad bite. At least to my knowledge. But, on the other hand, while it is a disqualification in other breeds, I've also seen dogs with bad bites being put up. The disqualification written into the standard was done with a great deal of YTCA thought and input from AKC. Though the YTCA does write it, AKC has the final sanction on the wording. The color issue though it seemed to some as minor, the YTCA felt that if it wasn't addressed now, that it would lead to the situation of other breeds.
