| This morning Trini and babies are doing well. They fed twice last night and once this morning and I am supplementing them about every 2-4 hours, depending on how long they ate for before. The little boy is now weighing in at 3.65oz which makes me think I weighed him incorrectly yesterday or he is loosing a little weight (he is eating pretty good though) and the big boy is at 4.75, he is such an aggressive litle eater.I will post more pics later today. Thank you all!

| Thanks for the update! Happy to hear all is well this morning. Continue weighing, I usually weigh a "weak" one 3 times a day to get a more accurate picture. Their weights will be your best indication that everything is fine and they are eating enough. |

| ~ I am so happy right now!!!!I had to leave the house for two hours, so before I left I bottle fed both the little boys, mind you I have been rotating puppies on mom and on bottle every other feeding. We all left the house and ran some errands for two hours and when we got back Trini was in the box with the babies , they are both latched on and eating and she is cleaning them too. Trini has not been in the box with them since the morning after we got home!!Wow, wow, wow is all I can say! She really is a momma now!Sigh of relief!

| The news just keeps getting better and better. I would also try not to supplement anymore because the more you supplement the less milk Mom will produce. Of course, you are the one that is there and knows the most of what is going on so you'll know if it's necessary or not. Thanks so much for keeping us all updated and letting us share in your joys (and sorrows). |

| hi trin hun i am so sorry for all the happened to you hun, personally i would sue that vet clinic for all the happened to you!!!!!. second try this and see if it helps mom to stay in there i had that same problem my dixie wouldnt stay in box much either so my hubby cut a hole in one side with a lip about 4 inches high from bottom big enough for her to crawl in and out of and that worked dixe starting staying in there more. i also put her fodd and water bowls right outside the box so it was handy for her.. i my hubby and i both left the room dixie would follow and whine so when we both were out of bedroom we brought box and all in front room with us and now we dont have to do that but for the first week or so we did... btw hun u are doing a great job hun keep up the good work

| Oh how this touched me and brought back memories from two weeks ago when we lost our Ponytail Polly and one of her babies! The three survivors, Rudolph, Holly, and Noel are doing great at 2 weeks and are so cute..will post pix again soon as long as I am not in the shots cause I look like I have had a c section...bottle feeding them every 2 hours week one and now every 3 hours has really been tough but they are worth every minute of lost sleep! The posts/pix were so similar to what we went thru, I was on the edge of my chair and my nerves were shot before I got to the end. One thing I have realized, after years of dealing with vets; they are not in the profession for the love of animals but for the love of $$$. Before I get slammed for this remark...not All..there are exceptions to the rule. I cant imagine this hospital holding up a needed surgery for CASH after all that Momma had been thru, and the cost was over the top too (again my opinion only and we all know; opinions are like @ssholes...everyone has one) but I am in the Midwest where everything is less than on the coasts so... However the bottom line is that had the money not been available they would have sent that family out the door to face the consequences of an inevitable death! Great job from the midwives too! Keep us posted! |

Mom too? Did any of your pups have fluid in their lungs? If yes, did it clear up or how did you clear it up?

| We really didnt have any problems with fluid except every now and then when they were first learning to drink from the bottle; small amounts came bubbling out their little noses but I would pull the bottle away and suck out the fluid best I could. They are stronger than one would think, maybe your little one will get better each day...just keep an eye on him and let Mom do her best to feed him. Yes, we lost the mom and one baby was still born; the water sac presented but after 45 minutes of no progress I took her to the vet, he said she had a very small pelvis for her size of 5.5 lbs. The babies were 4.0 4.5 5.0 and 5.5 she just couldnt have them. She died about 14 hours after the surgery, we dont know why but she never snuggled, licked, them and just barely looked their way...she was sicker than I knew. I felt really awful as breeding was my idea! You might want to lay him head down when he is sleeping, anything to get that fluid out. (This is what they do immediately after c sections to get the fluid out of the lungs, not sure if it would help but dont think it would hurt??) Good luck and hang in there! |
