Kermi and Bruno are cute names. Looks like he is trying so hard bless his lil heart. is mom getting better with them? I do like Lucky as a name for the lil guy. |
Ouch, that once pic that shows Mom's incision and staples makes you realize why she might not want to be with them too much at this point. Poor baby! I hope she heals quickly. |

Mom is taking better to them when we are there to help. She won't on her own yet. I hope she feels better soon too. She looks like she is weak off and on and she is doing some panting like she's hot. She likes the milk supp but won't drink too much water. I think she might be a little dehydrated but I do not know what to do I keep tring to feed her the water but she won't drink more than a fe licks... |
Try low sodium chicken broth - she really needs the fluids to produce milk. |
I've just read this entire post. Wow it reads like a soap opera. I found it very educational. Thanks to all of you who contributed. I realize that when the puppies are coming your hands are busy, but perhaps one of you experienced breeders could have someone else record a birth and post it on that utube (sp) site. Trini's Mom. I wish you the best fo luck with your little ones. If you lose the little guy it certainly won't be because you didn't try. Lacy's Mom, it was so wonderful of you to stay up all night with her. |

Check to see if the pups nails are long, they are pretty sharp when they start growing. Be sure to give her calcium suppliments daily. I gave my girl cheese, goats milk, cottage cheese and tums.... really whatever she would take and she still ended up with eclampsia. Just be very careful, it comes on very quick. I still give her 1/2 a tums in the morning and 1/2 tums at night even though she isnt able to nurse anymore. |
<<<they would not begin operating until they had all the money>>>> First thing I would do is CHANGE VETS .... that person had NO right to yell at you ... I know I wld have been passive also b/c i would have been so scared for the mom .... but these "vets" need more than bedside manner! Gggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! |

I appreciate everyone for following and imput and help...Thank you all so much! |
Congratulations on the new pups. Trini and babies are adorable. Im so sorry 2 didn't make it. I will have them in my prayers, RIP :littleang . I hope that the little boy that has fluid in his lungs makes it. Trini and you have done an awesome job. I can believe the experience you had at the vet. When Gucci ate rat poison the er vet wouldnt see her until i pay. It is so sad when money comes first to care. |

Trini's mom, just wanted to say you're doing a wonderful job and are on your way to becoming a great breeder. What a harsh emotional experience this must have been for you. I admire you for keeping it together. The babies are beautiful. |
The picture of Trini with the babies nursing is precious! Poor thing, with her staples! The little guy looks like he's latched on really well in the picture by himself. You've done such a great job with the delivery and aftercare, I wouldn't have known what to do at all or where to start. (The reason my Lucy is spayed:p ) Lacy's Mom is truly a wonderful person to help you like she did. I am in awe of you both for your combined efforts. Good luck with your babies and I hope Trini feels better soon. |
