 Wow...you'r story is hard too. :( I am so sorry you lost the mother, especially because I am sure you were close to her. I know what my Trini went through was no fault of my own, if a female needs a c-section it is because of her own circumstances and body. The vet did not even tell me she looked like the pups were too big for her. I wish it would have worked out differently...:( I also wanted to begin breeding and I will not give up so easily. I love my Yorkies and maybe it was not meant to be for my Trini would be a mom. I did so much research, I mean hours and hours, days even to where that consumed all of my time but with this experience I learned that no matter how much you read and learn (which is still crucial) there is no experience better than first hand experience. I will keep reading and keep learning and get another female (hopefully) and by the time she is old enough to breed I will be more knowlegdeable and try again... Thank you for sharing your experience...:p The pups are still doing okay, even better (I think) than before. Mom is stepping up to the plate and I hope it will stay that way! :p Pictures will be coming soon...:p |
yes by all means hun i cant wait to see pics, i bet they are gorgeous, and yes dont give up on breeding hun the more u do it the more experience u get and no matter how many times u do it sometimes things go wrong cant be helped and its def not ur fault hun.... all my love ....Cindy |

I just wanted to say little baby's breathing has gotten sooo much better, every once in a while I'll catch a little gurgle when I feel him but not aloud anymore! Oh, thank you all so much!!!!:p First two are of big bro, third of little bro and last dedicated mama feeding her babies... |
Can't Help Myself... 4 Attachment(s) :p okay here are 4 more... first two are big bro and second 2 lil bro... The vet said I should do their tails and dew claws tomorrow :( since they are doing better...I hope it doesn't hurt them too bad. It is normal that they need to stay at the vets for a couple of hours?? Thank you!!!:p |

your babies look so cute ... and i am glad the little bro is doing well ....what an ordeal ... you deserve mother of the year award .... stay well |
As far as tails - makes sure you do the dew claws at the same time too. Some vets forget to do this for some reason. The tails usually require 1 or 2 stitches, but the dew claws just one snip, no stitches, no problem. There is a way done with clamping hemostats and then just twisting that is suppose to require no stitches, but my vet won't do it he says it leaves hairless tails (but there are many breeders on here that swear by it). My vet pulls the skin back (so he has extra skin to stitch up) then snips with scissors. My vet lets them go home immediately. Mom and I wait outside (in the parking lot) and my husband goes in with the puppies and it's all done in less than 10 minutes. Take Mom with you and if your vet insists on keeping them, insist Mom stays too. They will be comforted by nursing and Mom will be happier not worrying about where they are. All of mine have yelped when cut, but never seemed to be in any pain after that moment. Good luck! So happy to see that Trini has gotten that sparkle back in her eyes. |
Awwwww.. The vet told me to bring babies and he will cut both and leave them there for a few hours without mommy??? I did not think that sounded right. I'll discuss this with him before I go there in the morning. Thanks for the info... Thank you all so much. Thank you for noticing "the sparkle in Trini's eye" she is much better and happy!:p The little boy weighed 3.80 oz today, which is good because he has been back and forth between 3.75 and 3.60 the past few days... Good night all......:p |
I wouldn't leave my pups with that vet NO WAY>>> My vet does there tails and dews and we go home immediately NO NEED TO STAY. I too take MOM for a walk around outside while my Husband is with the pupies and they are getting done. Something doesn't sound right there. I am glad your Mom & Babies are doing great. I would certainly find a different vet. I am thankful that I have great vets at home and at my cabin even the EMERGENCY VETS are wonderful and as you can tell I have had to use all of them, for different reasons alerigic reation to shots, kicked in the head, hypoglysemic, ETC>>>>>not one of them asked me for payment or how payment was to be made until after and then they didn't care how I paid as long as I paid in full before I took the pup home. |
Progress... Lil bro weighed 4.05 oz. this morning...finally a weight gain! :p |
Did you get the tails done yet? How did that go? |
