Befor eI take her I am going to try to give her the karo syrup or the vanilla ice cream then if it does not work I will take her in |
That will just help her not become tired - it won't strengthen the contractions. Did you see any of the water sack bulge out on that contraction? She still isn't yelping or whining, right? A vet at this point would be grabbing the baby and pulling during contractions, but you have to have a good hold on the baby and only pull with the contractions - you can't just grab a leg or the head though, you have to have the hips or the shoulders so it is pretty invasive. |
she is really enjoying the vanilla ice cream she is having another contraction |
Not too much or she will have diarrhea tomorrow. That's another good sign that she's not in distress. |
no yelping and no whinning and I did not see the sac but it was so close |
She sure does seem to be progressing very slowly, but everything else sounds good. Are the contractions still strong? How far apart? |
strong and seven min apart but with her push I gently open her vulva and saw her water sac |
I'm really starting to appreciate my girls - my last delivery she had her first pain at 2:00 in the afternoon, first pup at 2:15 and a total of four by 3:30. Basically three good contractions and pushes for each one. She is 4 3/4 pounds (Dad is just under 4), but she has fairly wide hips. |
sac is hangin we dont see a puppy its only half way out |
My first granddaughter was just born August 2nd at home with a midwife (totally against her mine and her father's wishes). In fact, she didn't even feel the need for a midwife, but we drew the line on that one. It was a wonderful experience seeing the baby swim out (water birth), but it was very nerve wracking too. It didn't help that we were having a hundred year flood that night and I didn't even know if an ambulance could get to us if we needed one. She had a healthy girl with no complications, but if it was a boy - he was going to be named Noah! |
please help |
That sounds great - it might go back in, but you'll have a puppy very soon now. Don't break the sack, but if it breaks on it's own don't worry the pup will be fine for a little while. What color is the fluid in the sack - if it looks black that is probably the puppy you are seeing. |
yes it is black |
Is the sack still filled with fluid or just the membrane hanging out - it's fine either way. |
fluid only no pup another contraction |
