				 | I really doubt she'll eat before going into labor. The best predictor is the drop to or below 98 degrees in temperature. You should be able to see and feel the contractions - her whole stomach will tighten and then release. When you see the contractions you should have plenty of time to drive her to the vets. Just have a plastic storage box lined with a towel ready to go. |

				 | Mine never had a water sac either. By that time, the puppy was on its way out. The best indicator I've seen is the shaking that they do. When it's getting close, you'll know. They tremble.

				 | I wasn't able to depend on the temperature dropping. I started taking Emilee's temp a week before her due date morning and evening. It jumped all over the place and never did go down below 100 unless it was sometime during the day.

				 | I have found this thread to be very informative. As a potential future breeder this is very helpful. I remember the first posts about her little female being bred by a larger male, but cannot remember the weights of the dogs. I'll have to go back and check. I assume this is the mothers first pregnancy. And Wow 5 babies. I sure hope she delivers on her own and fdoes well. It wi;ll make me feelf a lot better when I have to go through it. fanni, I'll have you on speed dial when I go through this. |

				 | Whew....... I cannot believe this thread....apparently the ones who responded harshly were trying to prove something I guess........that she made a mistake and she needed to be hung, I guess..... I am quite shocked frankly........lets go back to " we are not ALL perfect.....and geez......I am not quite sure I would feel very comfortable asking for "delivery" advice..... See everyone is different under stress....lets all chalk this up to "inexperience"......period. |

				 | all these negative comments and harsh words and comments being thrown around is very childish...we all come to thise site for help, information and answers to ? we may have...frm the smartest to the stupidest ?z...not to sit here and be harsh to eachother...and battle...but anyway my little girl is doing okay stil hanging in there..she started eating again but not everything she its a little less than she was...also another ? do you think i should take her to the vet once she goes into labor or give her a chance to give birth at home on her own? is it bad to take her to the vet right away and not give her a chance to do it on her own? thank you for your opinions and concerns |

				 | If it were me, I would take her to the vet. I would just feel better knowing that IF something did go wrong, help was there. God bless & please let us know how she is doing. |

Welcome back!....I am so glad everything is ok. My gut is, since your new to the "delivery" thing......you and the Mom may feel better if she is at the vet. Although, there is a bit of expense to the Vet doing the delivery. You and I agree totally.......this is a place for comfort, answers and friendship......nothing less.... | |

				 | I also agree with taking her to the vet right away. I would also have a chat with the vet now and make sure that they know what the plan is.
