I really doubt she'll eat before going into labor. The best predictor is the drop to or below 98 degrees in temperature. You should be able to see and feel the contractions - her whole stomach will tighten and then release. When you see the contractions you should have plenty of time to drive her to the vets. Just have a plastic storage box lined with a towel ready to go.
