I remember that other thread. It's sad that some people have to learn on their own first instead of learning from other people's mistakes. Unfortunately it's the innocent dogs and their puppies that pay the price. For their sake I honestly hope that the dogs involved will be okay.

shes going in on friday to get xrayz do you think its too early we estimate her being at about 5 weeks 5 1/2 weeks...the vet recommended an xray to know whats going on since hes leaving and to let me know what i have to watch for and explain everything

It was just a question.. doesnt mean that im goin to breed her reardless. if i didnt ask then i wont know. now i know. thanks for the links and im sure that im not the only one that wanted to know about this too.
BTW i dont breed dogs for $$$.. others might be doin it for the $$$ but i was considering brreding my dog to pass on the quality of my dogs but then it seems like not a good idea at all. i simply asked the question b/c i have seen in the for sale section that ppl breed dogs that weight the same or the male is alittle bigger than the female. just wanted to know about that. Once again thanks for the info.

I would have her x-rayed or sonogramed about 7-10 days before she is due.With the male being that much bigger than her, her baby/babies could be so big she cant pass them. Best to know before she goes into labor if she needs a C-section. That could save her and the pups.

I have mine x-rayed every pregnancy, just to be sure how many they are having and that they will fit through ok. Luckliy I havent had 1 C-section, BUT my male has always been smaller than my female.

she was xrayed and the she is having 5 pups and says everything should be okay doing it natural if not we will do an emergencey csection

I found the book. it's written by Jackie Ramson...The Dog Owner's Guide to Yorkishire Terriers. On page 59 it states...

"After her second season, providing she is over a year old when it occurs, she can be mated but only -- and this is very important -- if her weight is at least 5 lbs (2.3 kg)"
