| ![]() I agree completely that the quality of Yorkies are declining greatly! That's why we are starting a club in South Africa. The quality is terrible here! With regards to studding, I wouldn't use a stud who hasn't been shown in the show ring. It is paramount that you breed with the best available and if you can choose a stud, why not pay a little extra and go for a champ? Responsible champion-stud owners also won't let their studs be bred with just any bitch and they should study the bitch's pedigree to determine compatibility. Chances are that if a champ owner won't allow their champ to be bred to a bitch, that bitch isn't standard, isn't healthy or isn't compatible with regards to genetics. I think that if you are considering studding your dog, you need to get him involved in the show ring first to ensure that he is a good representation of the breed. I'd only stud him out if he is a champion, but that's just me.

I would never breed any champion bitch of mine to a stud that is not a champion and has not passed all the health tests, and that is just a starter.

| ![]() Well apparently I came to the wrong site because it sounds to me the only thing you care about is how much your babies will make you and I say babies because that's what they are not bitches. Also when people refer to their animals as a pet it meaning is that they are a part of the family not a money making scheme. I want to thank everyone of you by making me feel so welcome and offering such wonderful advice that would actually help me out. I hope everyone has a good day and I pray for your babies that they have a life filled with love and happiness. |

| ![]() You talk about a yorkies being bred with anything mine are not I got my female and make.from the same breeder but different parents and both of them are AKC registered. So when someone asks you a question it would be helpful to actually answer the question respectfully. |

Where did Gemy allude to money? I don't see it. What she did tell you is that she would never breed any old dog because that is the antithesis of breeding to improve the breed. The purpose of achieving a CH on a dog is to attain approval for a breeding program. A great breeder is looking to breed not only the healthiest of dogs, but the ones that best represent the breed standard. Just because a dog is registered with the AKC doesn't make them a good candidate for breeding. As for the term bitch and stud (or dam and sire), those are the proper terms to use when referring to breeding.

| ![]() Ok, Bella and C.J. have already had a litter that's where little Bill came from and they had 3 beautiful and healthy pups. I just felt like I was getting attacked instead of advice. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() What she told you to do was read the entire thread. There was excellent information already presented in it from very experienced and respected breeders. I don't see how that could be interpreted as attacking. {Shrug}
