Oh geeze, ain't it the truth. Cody, our stud that resides at my parents' house, was cool and calm until he was bred to Trixie. Now he acts out any time he sees her, smells a female in heat and will often sit and 'pine' whle looking out the front window of their house.

I agree. I would never trade my male Maltese (Pola Bear) for anything now that I have him. But I wish I would of know what I know now. He was completely potty trained until I breed him. Now he wears a belly band all the time. He has long white hair, so he has to have lots of baths to keep the pee from staining his hair. Plus a lot of brushing to keep the band from matting his hair. Oh did I forget to mention the whining for the girls when I will not let him breed them? Definitely a lot of work. I love him though.

Is this a gurantee?? My mom breeds standard poodles, and her stud is an indoor dog, but has never marked exceopt for once and he was caught, scolded and never did it again. Is this just yokies or most males (studs) in general?

In my experience a stud dog whether used for stud or not, left not neutered is a peeing machine. I am sure there are the exceptions.....and it may be only my experience. I am not a trainer. I raised Siberians once, the male was used as a stud and he marked in the house if you didnt say "NO!" and follow him around. It was his nature. He was a stud dog. If you werent looking he would sneek it in! I had a Shar pei not neutered male, who I rescued because he was going to be put down ( he didnt like kids at all) (way before I had kids, yrs ago) I absolutely adored this dog, he had never been used for stud, but he tried to mark everything!!!!!! After neuter he was a better with tons of work, but he remained wanting to mark corners and such. Ivory still wanted to run the countryside and was hit by a car going to the neighbors because they had a female dog in heat. This was after he was neutered too, but only 1 month after. Bad habits are hard to break. I did see alot of improvement in his peeing habit after neuter, and I think I would have been successful if I would not have allowed him out the front door without fencing. When Ivory went out a door, his head was down and off he went. He wouldnt respond to his name.

| Again about Wynstn Too Ok, now that I have read about all of the boy thing. I am now thinking about getting him fixed. He was a year old in March 2006. Is it too late to nuter him? Will he still hump things? Will he mark, in the house, I just wonder if it is too late or is he too old.
